I hope Will Smith & Jada are mercilessly mocked by every comedian from now on. It becomes routine that everyone takes at least one jab at the Smiths during any comedy performance.

Does zamler know this was Chris Rock at the Oscars, and not The Rock? It's hard to figure how he was brought into the discussion.

I hope next time Smith is at an awards show, the host comes out on stage dressed in a hockey helmet and pillows taped to his body to deliver his jokes.

Jim Carey with a great take on the incident and he didn’t mince words.
You know public discourse on a topic has passed through the looking glass when it takes Jim fricken’ Carey to deliver one of the most clear-eyed takes.

The thought of the Rock getting manslapped across the face alone is quite amusing, mainly because of what would have to follow.
Nah. If the Rock had gotten slapped like this, I suspect he would have smiled and laughed.

Anyone have any opinions on the actual Oscar winners?
Chastain winning best actress for Tammy Faye: I thought well deserved, and I really enjoyed the movie and honestly knew nothing about Tammy Faye Bakker and Jim Bakker. Worth a watch for those who have not seen it, and also directed by Michael Showalter, the guy who created "Wet Hot American Summer" with David Wain. I saw all the other movies and I think Kristen Stewart also had a shot at this award as I thought her work as Diana was fantastic.
I talked about CODA earlier winning best picture which I think is a huge let down relative to the abundance of quality films in the Best Picture category. Licorice Pizza was my favorite and was superior to CODA is almost every conceivable way, art direction, score, acting, script, originality, story. Same with Dune and Power of the Dog. CODA didn't even get a nomination for Best Cinematography, Score, Make Up, Director, Actor, Actress, Sound, Production Design, yet it walks away with the the top prize. Seems suspect!
Best foreign film: Drive my car. A fantastic movie but I still preferred The Worst Person in The World to this one.
There are some movies there that I still need to see: Flee, Encanto, Nightmare Alley and West Side Story.

I would like to, but I saw almost none of the movies.
My hopes for who would have won was only based on who I like.
I have to assume it's that way for most people. There has to be very few posters here who have even half of the movies nominated. You could be the only one who has seen them all, or almost all of them.
Unless you see all the movies in a category, it's going to be a pretty uninformed choice.
Besides you're wrong on CODA as not only was there a nomination for actor, the guy won. not to mention I believe they also won for adapted screenplay.
so you have a well acted, well written movie with little flaws. Of course it can fairly win best picture.
