Vegas is currently not close to making the playoffs.
They only have 15 games left and they need to either catch Edmonton who are 3 points ahead with 2 games in hand, LA who are 5 points ahead with 1 game in hand, Dallas who are 1 point ahead with 4 games in hand, or Nashville who are 4 points ahead with a game in hand.
Oh, and the Jets are closing in on them with a 7-3-0 record, and are currently only 2 points behind with a game in hand.
Vegas is also 3-7-0 in their last ten and 7-13-0 in their last 20. That doesn't mean they weren't desperate to shed Dadonov so they could activate someone else who might help them more, but whether that's the case or not, they currently look like a mess and most likely their 100M roster will watch the playoffs from home.

43.5% chance is actually kinda close to making the playoffs...highest odds of anyone on the outside looking in.
https://moneypuck.com/predictions.htm
Say VGK get 5 pts in their next 3 games (CHI, SEA, SEA).
Say EDM get 4 pts in their next 5 games (CGY, ARI, LAK, STL, ANA). 1-2-2 or 2-3 isn't a crazy expectation.
Through 70 games each, EDM would have a 2pt lead. They'd still face each other once - a win in regulation would mean they are essentially tied.
Obviously they need some help, but EDM has a way tougher last stretch. And E=NG.

What is the rule if Vegas was completely healthy tomorrow and had to take everyone off LTIR? Is there a penalty? What would they be forced to do?

No rule because they would never have to

Theoretically fines and loss of draft pick(s). There’s no real way for it to be forced into existence. The Knights can just carry on with the roster they have until the end of the season.

Meh, potato potato. To me, 80%+ is close, and below 50% is pretty far.
They're behind everyone relevant, everyone has games in hand, they've been playing worse than everyone, AND there's even a team catching up to them from behind.
The Dadonov debacle isn't going to improve the atmosphere in the locker room either. I would bet money they're done and will finish behind the Jets, which would leave them dead last among the teams that haven't thrown in the towel already.

If the league's independent MDs determine that a player is being kept on LTIR when he is fit to play, the penalties come into force.
It's not likely to happen in this case, because the Knights have three players still on injured reserve who have not been placed on LTIR. One of them is Robin Lehner, who has already missed 18 days. Pacioretty has been out for 14 days. Either or both of those players could easily be put on LTIR to activate Stone, but they haven't been. I therefore conclude that Stone is not ready to go.
At the moment, the Knights are shamelessly gaming the system so they can fit a $65-million roster under an $81.5-million cap. This whole complaint is a massive nothingburger.

Show me where the NHL has their own doctors look at LTIR claims. They don't. They take the word of the team doctors.

Yeah it has never happened, not to mention it's almost impossible since nobody is ever 100%
Martinez has been practicing for 3 months.
Nobody is denying it blew up in their face...fact is their plan was to LTIR Eichel into the lineup with hopes of icing an 100M playoff lineup. It's not a coincidence so many teams are up in arms. Eichel trade never should have been allowed without making cap space

Have you actually seen him practicing and know that his concussion was cleared up enough to play, if not then let it go.

At this point I’ve come to the conclusion that dino is Martinez.

Wrong. CBA section 50.10(d). The league can challenge any club physician's determination that the player is unfit to play.

No, the fact is that you BELIEVE that to be the case.
Incidentally, even with all their injured players counting at full cap hits, Vegas has just under $95 million on the roster. Your case is silly enough without lying about the numbers.

Dino7c KNOWS that Martinez doesn't have a concussion. He KNOWS that nothing was wrong with him but a cut on the face: he has told us that many times. He also KNOWS that Vegas is making the playoffs and will ice, I quote, a ‘$100-million lineup’ for game 1: he has told us many times.
Do not question the all-knowing dino7c. He may decide to KNOW that you had arsenic for breakfast, and then you will be retroactively dead.

I am pretty sure I have heard Eliiotte Friedman and others discussing NHL medical oversight actually happening in Vegas this season.

And you seem to think the league prevents teams from keeping guys on LTIR longer than they need to be. They don't.
Sorry 95M not 100M...big deal.
Martinez participated in full practice every day since January except for when he was out with covid. I know this because it was reported by people there every day. It's not rocket science...I know who practices for the Flames too!
It's pretty obvious what their plan was...their GM acquired a player that put them more than 10M over the cap...you guys can keep being rubes though.

If this was the case, then why on earth would VGK have opted to swap out their best player in the midst of a good run in favour of Jack Eichel when they did? A much better decision would have been to leave Eichel on LTIR (because apparently teams can just leave any player on LTIR for as long as they want) until they needed him in the lineup. But that is NOT what happened, and it happened the way that it did precisely because they could not keep him on LTIR any longer, and it was necessary to activate him.

Are you trying to say a player has never been left on LTIR because of cap reasons? Really?
