USFL announces rule twists vs NFL
Quote:
Scoring teams have a third option to attempt an extra point. A successful scrimmage play from the 10-yard line equals three points.
A second option to retain possession after scoring will be converting a fourth-and-12 from a team's 33.
In overtime, each team's offense will alternate plays against the opposing defense from the 2. Each successful scoring attempt will receive two points. The team with the most points after three plays wins. The subsequent attempts become sudden death if the score is tied after each team runs three plays. The overtime period will extend until a winner is declared
Two forward passes from behind the line of scrimmage are legal.
Each coach will be allowed one replay challenge. USFL Replay Command at Fox Sports Control Center in Los Angeles will make all replay decisions.
All kickoffs will be from the 25. No kicking team member may line up any further back than 1 yard, while the receiving team must have at least eight players in the setup zone between their 35 and 45. After a kickoff travels 20 yards, the first touch must be by the receiving team. If an untouched kick becomes dead, the ball belongs to the receiving team at that spot.
On punts, gunners may not line up outside the numbers and they cannot be double-team blocked until the ball is kicked.
The clock will stop for first downs inside 2 minutes of the second and fourth quarters.
The penalty for defensive pass interference will mirror the NCAA rule with exceptions. First, a defender intentionally tackling a receiver beyond 15 yards would become a spot foul. The penalty will be a spot foul if it occurs 15 yards or less from the line of scrimmage or a 15-yard penalty from the line of scrimmage if the spot of the foul is beyond 15 yards.
If a pass does not cross the line of scrimmage, there can be no pass interference or ineligible player downfield penalties.

Not sure I like a lot of those rules like the option to retain possession by getting a 4th down play. Also alternating plays in OT seems kind of dumb as you have offensive and defensive units coming on and off the field in succession six times. I do like the NCAA rule for pass interference as I'm not a fan of the spot foul because of the ticky tack nature of some of these calls that can totally flip field position.

Prime time calls out the teams that didnt send reps to his teams pro day,
Quote:
"Twenty-four teams. Twenty-four teams came to witness our kids yesterday in its entirety (Editor's note: 22 teams were reportedly at Jackson State's pro day Monday). And I appreciate you," Sanders said. "But, there's 32 teams in this Crayola box. Therefore, the Dolphins, the Broncos, the Texans, the Bills, the Buccaneers, the Ravens, the Panthers, the Browns, the Vikings, and the Eagles, where art thou? You could have sent somebody man. You could have shown up just a little bit."

The league has gone bonkers this offseason. This is a huge blow to the Chiefs. I don't think the offense will be the same without Hill. Kelce is getting up there in age and now teams can double him all the time as Smith-Schuster isn't going to scare anyone.

I agree with you, but I'm not sure that it's a great move for Hill either. His production has to drop?

That is a lot of draft capital and salary cap commitment for a team that isn't particularly close to competing. I guess this keeps them ahead of the Jets at least?

Why would he care, he's paid now. He won't care if he's a sub-500 yard per year receiver the rest of his career.

Absolutely his production will drop. I'm sure the Dolphins will try to utilize him in similar ways as Reid did in KC but he's going from an all time gifted arm to a below average arm in Tua that can't make a lot of the throws Mahomes can. He's too fast and skilled to fall off the face of the earth but teams will constantly double team him and force Tua to go elsewhere or force the ball into coverage.

Also, acquiring the NFL's preeminent deep threat when your QB can't actually throw deep is....curious, to say the least. Hope Tyreek likes shallow crosses and bubble screens.

Hilarious thing is that if Tua can't get the job done, Teddy may have an even weaker arm. Certainly doesn't seem like the ideal fit for Hill's skillset.

But if you're a Chiefs fan and feeling depressed, this is a classic Patriots trade right here. Get a bunch of picks, let someone else spend the draft capital and $$$ for the player's declining years. Hill is now the highest paid non-QB in the league. Is he really the best non-QB in the league? Not even close. Chiefs will definitely suffer this year, but in the long run this feels like a very smart move by them.

If anyone can do more with less on offense as a coach/QB duo, it's probably Reid and Mahomes.

sure, top 10 points percentage
should have said top 16 considering you said they were a bottom feeder but I will honor it lol
You do realize they were top 10 in 2021 right? 8 teams had a better win percentage than the Raiders last season

8 teams won more games than the raiders last season, they were not below average

The #### is points percentage? In the NFL you have wins, and losses, and ties. No points. And he didn't say bottom feeder (you did lol), he said they were a "below average team". Which by advanced metrics they were in 2021. The 2022 Raiders are actually shaping up as the classic team who will actually be a better overall team in 2022, but with a worse record than they had in 2021 (the Browns were that team in 2021).

Chris Olave, come on down (assuming the Chiefs trade up or he falls).

I meant win percentage not points I had hockey on the brain...really its all the same though
8 teams won more games...of 32 teams
last I checked wins are all that matters, they won more games than the average team...its not an opinion its math.
$100 the Raiders are top 10 in win percentage, tie is a push. We on Rube?

Win percentage is a bit silly when it comes to the NFL because there are so few games that you can have a bunch of teams with the same record. If you don't consider tiebreakers and SOS, you could say the Raiders were either tied for the 4th best record in football or the 10th worst.
See: https://www.tankathon.com/nfl
I would say we either include SOS/tiebreakers and bet on where they finish in draft order or just set an O/U for total wins. I would make the bet that they can't finish with a record that would give them a higher pick than 22nd overall in the 2023 draft (which is the 10th best record in football), or set the the O/U for total wins at 9.5, with me taking the under. Your choice.
