That forehand volley missed. Would have been 6-4

Good for Fritz he played unreal and didn't let the pressure get to him. Seems like a good kid and this means a lot to him. Sucks to see Nadal lose but Fritz deserved it today.

Lol I just happened to look up Taylor Fritz’s story two weeks ago when I caught a match of his.
Was shocked to learn he had a kid when he was 20 with his now ex wife.
Just based on watching him that match didn’t figure he was destined for much anytime soon.
Goes on to win Indian Wells very next tournament.
Impressive stuff. Congrats Taylor Fritz.

He makes that volley 98 times out of 100.

Considering how terrible Fritz looked in those warmup clips, crying out in pain and unable to put weight on the ankle, this was a goddamn miracle. Just glad to even have watched some tennis today, when it looked like all it would be is a blowout women’s final and a withdrawal.

If you plunked down some money at the start of IW on Indian Wells, you're a happy camper today. Not sure what his odds were, but they must have been extremely long (I'm thinking in the 70 to 80 to 1 range).

which means the bookies made a killing. nobody bet on Fritz until at least the QF if at all. Even today, Fritz was 4-1.

Hearing that we might have a potential quarter-final of Felix versus either Greek Yogurt or Carlos Alcaraz in Miami.

Tough 1st opponent for Felix as he takes on a very in-form Kecmanovic (probably). FAA will need to serve well and hopefully the faster courts will help both Felix and Shapo who historically have played well at Miami.

Has anyone heard anything credible surrounding the status of Milos?
The last update I have is of him withdrawing from the Aussie Open with this ongoing foot issue in December. If it has still yet to heal, you've got to think that this is the end of the road for the big man. The last time he's played anything close to a full season is now 2019 and really, even that was not close to a full load.

At Indian Wells, Petra Martic made it to the quarter-finals defeating Emma Raducanu along the way. Today, she loses in the first round of qualifying for the Miami Open.
Tennis man, it's a tough sport.

It's crazy he was even able to still play let alone almost win a final with the injury. Nadal will be out 4-6 weeks which means no Monte Carlo or Barcelona. Terrible timing for the injury, hopefully he is okay.
