I actually like that quite a bit for Ottawa. Joseph seems like a really good candidate to improve in a bigger role.

Tampa is just trying to win another Cup by acquiring all of the players in the NHL.

You cant beat Tampa without players.

Don't know much about Joseph? He must have a lot of value? Or else the Senators paid more for Hamonic than they sold Paul for... and that would be insane.

I could be wrong but I think Joseph was their top prospect before last year. I think he played in the playoffs for them too.

Same. Has the same amount of points as Paul this year and is an RFA at years end, compared to Paul as a UFA.

I agree, quite honestly I don't really get this trade from Tampa's point of view. I guess they get some size and a guy who can play center, but aside from that it seems like a pretty lateral move for them.

Ottawa gets a guy who should be able to produce more with more minutes, and might actually want to play in Ottawa because it's closer to home.
