Andrew Brunette said he would be out short term and there was not structural damage, but that might be just pre-deadline smoke like when Giordano took warmups when his bicep was torn.

Its hockey.

Silly grudge holding is not only 100% perfectly acceptable, its encouraged!

I for one will never forgive Anders Eriksson

Have to be pretty happy if the Flames get that far and lose. Panthers are loaded, Be happy for Bennett, Be happy for the Flames. We have a team that is only going to get better.

FLA the team to beat in the East it appears. Holy smokes. And, they gave up very little IMO. A 2024 1st? That's so far down the road..

Giroux kinda limited the return by telling Philly he wanted to go to Florida. Philly couldn't even create much of a bidding war between them and the Avs, because they wanted to do right by Giroux.

Return seems decent enough. Would love to know what the Colorado package was, that was supposedly better. Wonder if Byram or Newhook were on the table -- would be preferable over Vatrano.

Best of luck, sir. You've done Philadelphia proud.

There are 2 times in Flames history that still bother me the most, 1986 and 2004.

Say no to being happy with 2nd place

The fan base might be a little bitter by then, but if they put in a deep run, or heaven forbid, win a cup or two with a well built, deep team.

Thats just the nature of salary-capped sports.

It is a pretty pedestrian return for Giroux 50% retained IMO

Earlier this week Friedman was doing his daily hit on the Marek show and this came up.

I cant remember if he stated that Philly had asked for one or both in return or that Sakic declared the both as non-starters in any rental deal but he was pretty adamant that neither guy was Sakics choice as currency.

In the world of one chosen destination, how does this compare to the Iginla return?

When there is literally no competition, it's pretty difficult to get what you should.

Well Tippett is better than any of the players received.
