It looks pretty bad now but they haven't a big wave until now either. Theoretically there won't be as many hospitalizations and deaths by following this route.

Ya, that's why I'm saying it is interesting. We will see how it plays out.

Sorry, the internet has ruined me. The word "interesting" has become too much like a passive aggressive term around these discussions.

'Interesting" messaging from Dr. Tam:
https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canad...edgdhp&pc=U531
Tam said all federal vaccine mandates are under review now because the science tells us the primary series of the COVID-19 vaccine — the first two doses — offers very little protection against the Omicron variant...
She said more people over the age of 50 need to get the booster to make Canada's public health system more resilient as governments begin to lift COVID-19-related measures, such as limits on social gatherings and mask mandates.
O RLY?

Wild. Recommendations and rules change as conditions change. This is the first time this has happened in the past two years.

The implication that something sinister is afoot and adapting policy is not merely a re-evaluation of the situation as we've learned more is something I've come to expect from complete f-ckwits without the capacity for critical thought far too many people over the last two years.

You sound like you are surprised. Why? Omicron is a variant of the original virus. Do you think any vaccine developed is a one time catch all?
While the vaccines are not as effective against Omicron, they are highly effective against the original virus and still give some protection against Omicron.

Did you only start arguing against these mandates only after Omicron showed up? If you argued about any of it prior to Omicron this this lame attempt at a gotcha moment is meaningless.
I'm impressed at the ridiculousness of your post. Good thing we aren't following the rules we set up immediately at the beginning of 2020 especially when it comes to treatment of covid patients.

Actually if you look at my posting history, yes I only did start arguing against these mandates after Omicron showed up.

Well technically you didn’t post about Covid until Omicron showed up which is really weird given the volume you have posted since. So your opinion pre-omicron is unknown

Regarding deaths, it's actually hard to say with Denmark. This thread has some interesting insights into the different way they count deaths:

He was the guy who went with Tweek to get Kenny's time machine back from Rabbi Cartman in the future and got captured.

In terms of getting back to normal I went to Costco this morning and I had recently heard that Costco was still trying to implement a mask requirement in the store but to my surprise they did not care about walking in without a mask and even the employees did not have a mask requirement. Even more surprising is that the free samples are back. We can finally snack while shopping again.

Great, the worst part about Costco shopping is back. Endless groups tripping over themselves to get a morsel of free food, oblivious to those trying to get supplies and GTFO. This isn't the improvement you think it is.

But think of the people who can’t go 20 minutes without stuffing food in their mouth. Think of the people!

Why must you try to take things away from people that you do not like or agree with?
If you want to get your #### and GTFO go on a week day when the store opens or right before close.

Prior to Omicron, I didn’t have an issue with the rules since the vaccines seemed to work to prevent transmission. Admittedly I was and still am extremely hesitant to vaccinate children, especially considering there extremely low risk, and also especially if they’re healthy. Also prior to Omicron, there was really no runtime with COVID vaccines for children.
I really started posting about COVID when seeing the absurdity of our rules and mandates considering how vaccinated people were spreading COVID.
