From what I remember his line was mostly unlucky in the offensive zone. It's been a while but that line seemed to get a lot of the defensive assignments.
I think it is somewhat similar to how we view Backlund in the playoffs. Generating offense gets a bit harder, and the defensive assignments get more difficult. Like in the Colorado series his line held his own, but we all remember him being bad because of not having an answer to MacKinnon.
The bottom line, we got a good player, and I don't expect him to disappear in the playoffs.

Re: Jarnkrok in the playoffs, 2 words... Darryl Sutter.
Look at what he's done with the rest of the lineup. This roster is money with Sutter.

Without context, it is not really that revealing of a stat.
Were the games low scoring, as tends to happen in the playoffs often?
Was everyone else lighting it up but him?
Was he matching up against top defenders?
Was he having to kill a lot of penalties?
I am too lazy to look it up myself.

The funny thing is you could tweak like 2 or 3 players and this would still be a line up the Flames could win with.
We handsome and good at hockey.

Playoffs are also lower scoring after the first round. Is he strong defensively?
That's probably the most important thing.
We just need him to be a better defensive option over Monahan at the 3C spot, and be that pain in the ### to play against. I'm not expecting Jarnkrok to be a primary contrubutor, probably a tertiary one.
We just need him to support the top guys by not being a liability.
The fear with Monahan is he wouldn't be up to the task in playoffs.

Yes, it wasn’t really the “he disappears offensively” comment that got my attention given his role. It was the “soft” comment. But again, I never watched him and I’m thinking Treliving and Sutter know the player better.

Yeah honestly I'm not all that worried about his offence.
If he can play a part in turning two lines that can drive play into three lines that can drive play he's doing what he was acquired for.
Backlund Lite.

I love how many good pk'ers we have in our lineup right now. Our new acquisitions can play pp and pk.. similar to backlund, mangiapane, coleman etc

Had an idea!
|
I love it.
Adding more options in the lineup and forcing some more competition among the bottom 3 lines to get playing time and higher slots. Some guys are playing for future contracts, playing time, etc.
Great take by Sutter saying that outside of the 1st line, some guys haven't earned the right to play higher up in the lineup (Monahan). Maybe this finally lights a fire.

There's a Little Sweden within the Little Sweden with the Flames.
https://calgaryhockeynow.com/calgary...trom-lindholm/
Jarnkrok with Toffoli and Mangiapane - I'm suggesting we call them the Seek-and-Destroy line ... they're going to be hard to play against.
