Happy I sold TVE @ $6 and pulled my initial investment out.

I'm down almost 50% compared to peak, only own one stock right now I'm sure y'all can guess what that is. My average is very low but still the psychological impact.

Could be worse I lost so much money in the .com bust, on paper was a millionaire. Lost almost everything stock in the company I worked for went to zero.

Looks like they are passive shares, so not sure he's looking to take control, but with Elon, who knows. He's been pretty vocal in his disapproval of Twitters direction lately.

I dunno, I haven't seen his tweets. I do understand that "freedom of speech" is not unlimited, and Twitter banning people and corporations is well within their right and that it doesn't infringe freedom of speech. I'm not convince Elon understands that.

I also believe a far bigger threat to democracies is the propagation of misinformation as truth. A well informed electorate is essential to a functioning democracy. I understand that is directly at odds with "free speech"

I think your second paragraph is quite important. Both sides are going to spin the truth to fit their agendas. I think its important that you get a fair representation of all sides of the debate.

I didn't suggest he wasn't within his right, I was just pointing out a possible motive for the purchase.


As to the second bit, "both sides" is not an issue. It's when you have organizations spreading outright lies, and people buying into it that it becomes a hazard to democracy. The last 6 or so years of human history should provide ample examples.

I've grown to like Elon. I mean yes he's an egomaniac, his cult is often insufferable, and lot of his ventures feel downright stupid (Boring Co.!).... but he's a man of action, with big ideas, not afraid to say what's on his mind.

I'll take him over lizards like Zuckerberg and Bezos anyday.
