Hey, remember in the mid 90s, when everything sucked? Good times.

The horseheads were also worn in 200506

I’m fully on board for a pedestal come back. They’re so ugly but for 6 games for 1 season I think they’d be a ton of fun to see again.

We got lucky last year when the Flames ended up with one of the few Reverse Retros that wasn't awful. If the pedestals are brought back next year, they still won't be the ugliest Reverse Retro we've seen.

I have long said that the Flames needed to punt black back to the 90s for their primary sets in favour of the original, proper colour palette. I won't even call it "retro".
I also said that if the primary sets were restored to the original colours, then the Flames could create whatever monstrosities they wished for the thirds, reverse retros, and special occasions. Pedestal? Go for it. Black with black piping with a black C? Give'r.
If this is the price we pay for getting more red, yellow, and white on most nights, then so be it.

Not Flames, but this is pretty sick. Designed by a Flames fan, too.

Also, holy, does Toffoli ever look good in the retros. Keep them forever.

All I can get

My take on a Reverse Retro.
Keep the main colour of red for the C of Red. Blasty logo. Chevron striping pattern. More gold than black.

Taking a while to get to 5000
|
Hmm.
Hear me out. The Dallas stars, Edmonton Oilers two color scheme.
All red with Black C, black Blasty on shoulders and black striping.
So, the 2004 but only in red & black

I think the "safe route" reverse retro for the Flames will be the Blasty logo on the 04 home jersey, so pretty much this one with the yellow change to black.

Love that - Only change would be the black flaming C on the shoulders instead.

No idea what the hard and fast rules of RR are but blasty logo on "retro" jersey would work. Rework the horse without the black to make it match.

I suspect the black pedestal that was posted earlier (or something similar) is likely what we're going to see.
I think we'll also see the return of the horse head next year too, either the same as last year's Reverse Retro, or a return to the 1998 colours as the full-time alternate.

I dunno why they call it a "pedestal" jersey. It looks more like a tightly-cinched belt (apropos given the constrained financial state of the franchise back in the '90s).
It's "holding" up the flaming C?

I really am a great believer in the diagonal in uniforms you dont see too many diagonals and my thought was to put the flaming C on a podium, sort of a soaring-up podium. And then of course I used the diagonal slashes on the pants and the sleeves.

It's gotta be, I don't know what else they could use at this point. Curious to see what they'll do with it
