Is there a better scene in all of sports than from the corner camera where you see your guy coming in on goal alone in OT and in the background your entire team stands up together as one and then all come over the bench together in celebration?!

Even if Mackinnon thought JG was going to the bench, someone else was coming on and would have gotten the same pass so, just terrible awareness by him.

That was a really fun game between two great teams with an awesome finish. Lindholm bodying the Av off the puck and springing Gaudreau for a sweet goal...chef's kiss.

I thought the Flames started backing in a little in the second period and letting the Avs through the neutral zone too easily, but both Gudbransen and Zadorov were excellent and holding the blue line and setting a good example for the other guys.

Hanifin had a couple rough shifts, but he made a great play behind the Flames net with about 1:10 left to win the puck and move it up ice (importantly out of the zone). That play won't show up on a score sheet, but it's the kind of play that allows you to win games.

Better take some blood pressure meds before reading the Oilers salt.

Auston Matthews, Aleksander Barkov, Nathan Mackinnon, Connor McShrek, Sidney Crosby, Elias Lindholm

The six best centres in the league.

Hard to believe that this league would put the Flames on the national late game instead of the mighty Oilers. I mean, WTF are they thinking?

Yeah, I noticed that play. There was a lot of pressure and Hanifin was cool on a tricky puck.

Not even arguable IMO.

Dude is elite when it comes to a 200' game.

Has to be the best value non-ELC contract in the league.

Didn't get to watch the game except for overtime. Did keeping Lucic on Monahan's line, and saddling Dube with Ritchie and Lewis work out as good in real life as it looked in the boxscore?

Looks like it was a first line or bust game.

Vladar was really solid in the third. Good for him. The second period too actually.
