Colorado lost 8-3 to the Leafs this season, Florida lost 7-3 to the Devils this season....

It happens to the best of them.

Key now is getting back on the winning track ASAP. Not going to be easy though with the next two games being the home and home with the Wild.

Sure thing? Not sure what bad habits they've been forming to suggest they were going to be blown out so I asked. The last two wins were close hard fought battles.

But okay, sure thing.

Weakest effort I have seen from the Flames this year. They just didn’t want it and seemed like they were just done with the streak. I expected to win last night and lose one of the next 2 but it was clear early on the Flames we’re not that interested in winning last night

Hmmm. Turns out we played well in 1st and 2nd.

Sutter is the best.

Can’t say I disagree with the coach.

Yeah, Flames had their opportunity early to get the lead or on the board. It just snowballed and everything started to go wrong, whereas it clicked for the Canucks. After that it just got comical. Hopefully that was 10 games worth of bad juju in a single game and they get back on track quickly.

I am curious to see how they respond. Heck even the Devils thumped the Pens last night 6-1 with their 3rd string goalie playing. Stuff like this happens. Columbus took it to the Panthers in Florida last night as well.
Flex your muscle and bounce back like good teams do.

Missed the game last night, feels weird to say this but I am not overly upset about the loss. Great to have the long winning streak but I think some adversity and the ability to rebound is going to be an important element for this team. If they can experience that and persevere during the season, hopefully it becomes more repeatable in the playoffs.

On to the next one...

Canucks are a team hat needs to be hit early and often. Pettersen and Hughes in particular will disappear. It didn't happen.

Honestly I saw the same thing.

The Seattle game the Flames were the better team the whole night. No issue with how they played, but there was a sharpness missing that had Seattle stick around when they shouldn't have.

The Winnipeg game featured a run of 9-0 in high danger five on five chances for the Jets to finish the game, the third period was brutal.

That doesn't predict a blow out loss and a zebra circus, but the Flames haven't been "on" for the last two games for sure.

That said, ... normal. No team just rolls without a slide in a long win streak.

The only issue in the Seattle game was a lack of finish, which you noted in your game story, beyond that I didn't see any true poor play or poor habits. Was curious which specially transplant saw (because I didn't) the dismissive "sure thing" was strange.

My thoughts? Bad games happen, blow outs happen, sucks for the winning streak to come to an end is such dramatic fashion but even looking back in hindsight doesn't predict this.

How they respond is more important, as you suggested.

This was all my fault, I listened to the pregame show on the radio for the first time in ages.

Ebbs and flows!

Even if they lose the next couple, it is and was bound to happen. It's a long season and I really like what I see from this team this year.

Feels special.

I certainly saw less intensity/sharpness in their defensive game in the last half of the Winnipeg game.

Calgary is a 8 high danger chance against team in 60 minutes, not usually in 25 minutes as we saw against Winnipeg

You'll only need the audio, both misconducts were penalties for lipping off the refs.

Yeah, it's time to move Coleman down to 3rd line and move Toffoli up. Not sure what it is with both him and Dube with scoring but they've got hands of stones! Coleman should've been bench last night (in addition to half of the defense).

I hate when Flames Fans whine about the Refs.

That's such an Oiler thing to do.
