Please let it happen.... then we don't have to listen to her on our games.

Where is Babcock? They wanted him before McLellan.

But the coach is always the problem.
Well you have to admit the coach was a little bit of the issue in Vancouver.

How fast does Tippet get picked up by a team needing a new coach?

Maybe Tips knew he was done if they didn't win that game, he sure ran down the tunnel in a hurry when time expired.

How long does it take for de-lousing powder to take effect?

I was hoping it would be Goofus.

Coaching isn't the problem in Edmonton. Tippett didn't give McAvi and Pissy Leon 5 minute shifts because he doesn't know what he's doing. He did it because if he didn't it's basically killing the clock on yourself. The team is just bad.

He was one of the first hockey people Seattle hired even before they were approved for expansion. I expect him to be behind their bench by the start of next season, if not sooner.

I don't think so. Tippett was known as a "trap" coach in Arizona, but systems-wise he was bottom-rung. When the Kings beat the Coyotes in the 2012 WCF there was a clear gap between a Darryl Sutter style system built on tight checking and strong breakouts and the trap/collapse/pray system Tippett employed.

You have to feel sorry for the guy, you just know that the dynamic duo wasn't listening to him (or any recent coach for that matter). Tippett is a good coach, maybe better at coaching less talented teams - but a good coach nonetheless.

I remember when Ovi wasn't playing two way hockey and Trotz sat his ass down and made him play better defensively - this is what Edmonton needs in a coach for McDavid and Dri.

What a master stroke by the Flames, throwing their game against the Oilers on January 22nd to buy Tippet another 2.5 weeks.

Now instead of using the Allstar break and a softer schedule to acclimate to the team and hit this home stand running, Woodcroft will be scrambling to learn players names by the trade deadline.

Only to discover he just has to know two, since those are the only guys who see the ice.

I meant in Edmonton in particular.

Coaching played a very big issue into the Canucks early struggles. Coaching to not lose instead of coaching to win.

The real solution is to get a coach that is one of the best at structure and defense. Something the team sorely lacks. Tippett is one of the best at this and he should be there first…..oh.

Man, this is hilarious. After that hot start I wouldn't have had Tippett on my list of coaches that would be fired this year. Oil gonna Oil.

If I was Edmonton ownership - my coaching dream would be Rod Brind'Amour - but why would he leave Carolina? I think he's under contract until the start of the 2023 season.

Bringing in a young rookie coach is very un-old-boys-club. Interesting move, but ultimately they're so flawed in goal and the backend that Im not even sure coaching can help a whole ton
