I recall being disappointed with the chance(s) Czarnik had with the Flames. They pursued him pretty hard, visited him in person etc, then never played him and/or sent him down. clearly the guy they thought were getting wasn't the guy that arrived here.
Doubt it would go much better a second time around.

Czarnik was the definition of a perimeter player. The frustrating part was he did fine when he went into tough areas. He just didn’t want to.

I thought the Czarnik suggestion was a joke. Who would want to do that rehash when we have limited cap space to actually bring in improvements? Bringing up Phillips would probably be better than Czarnik, and it's free.

And yet he hasn't established himself elsewhere either.
I don't think this is on the Flames.
He's just not an NHLer.
He's a tweener - too good for the AHL, but can't translate production to the NHL.

Well, Czarnik is on waivers so he’s free too, and they make the same NHL salary. I just think it’d be a waste of time.

I was sitting here wondering why he hasn’t gone to Europe to carve out a good career for himself yet. But I had no idea he was American. I guess that’s why he’s fine grinding as a tweener.

There are potentially 12-15 teams will be the sellers at the trade deadline. I hope Treliving can bring some cheaper and useful players to help the team.

He spent most of his time centered either my Mark Jankowski (who was a poor centre) or Mikael Backlund (when he wasn't suited to the shutdown role).

The Flames would have had something balanced in a Lucic - Bennett - Czarnik line.

Brand new here (first post) but have been a season ticket holder off and on since the run. On the trade front - keeping in mind that I an idea on current contract value(s) but I do not know contract status. Number one move: Bring back Gio and move Hanifin plus to Boston for Taylor Hall. Number two move: Since I doubt that we can sign both Johnny and Tkachuk...send Tkachuk to Columbus for Laine plus.

Hanifin has been a top 25 dman in the league this season.

I wouldn't move him for Hall straight up, let alone adding.
