Very likely. But at the same time there is something very powerful about a team sneaking into the playoffs with a leader that is on his final chance. It is tough to manufacture the type of drive and emotion that should be present in that team next week.

Rams just dominating so that side of the equation seems good for the Sainters (and Dude Where's Makar?).

Yep, Saints just need to take care of their own business.
And Saints missing a 34 yard kick followed by Falcons making a wobbly 54 yard attempt pretty much sums up their season in the kicking game. The ghost of Lutz going down on the eve of the season lives on..

I can't see them not tying.
There is zero incentive for either team to win. It's not like they get a home game if they win.

Once he realizes it'll be against Aaron Donald with the LT out, his ribs will preemptively ache

Only a small incentive is that if it's a tie, Chargers are the 6 and Vegas is the 7. So a Vegas win and they go to Cincinnati if they are the 6 and even Buffalo if they are the 5, instead of Kansas City.
LAC cannot go to KC, win or tie and they are 6.
I think both teams just play it out and but the tie would come in the equation near the end if it's close.

there's no way the league will stand for a tie unless it really, really, really happens organically. And even then I doubt it.

Early word is Taysom may be done, tough in a game he's looked great. Only good thing about Siemian in there is he always seems to get the Brady calls somehow

The only time the tie thing might matter is OT because then both teams will be fine just not turning it over and exchanging punts, it's likely then both teams will not play to win anywhere close to what it'd be if a tie eliminated someone. But we gotta get there. Guys have incentive bonuses and other things on the line, and as we saw today it's still football and competition, and it's a division rival. And I agree with devo that the league will not accept a kneel down tanking game, it'd be embarrassing for the league.

All games should have been played at 4:25 but you know, contracts and money. So the NFL kind of set this up. Or the Chargers-Raiders game should have been played last night and the Cowboys-Eagles tonight.

It'd be worse if the Ravens won because then the Raiders would be in and would just play backups. There was really no guaranteed win and in, the 49ers-Rams was probably the best game to put in to actually eliminate any possibility of an intentional tie while maintaining strong playoff implications (Bucs probably get the 2 seed if the Rams lose). But also, zero sympathy for the Steelers, they only have themselves to blame being here by tying the Lions.

Big break for the 49ers getting a home game in LA, embarrassing for the Rams to have this many 49ers fans.

49'ers are back in it now. I think I prefer to see them in the playoffs over a Trevor Semien lead Saints team.
