Top line fading in this one reminded me of every trip to the playoffs in the last 6 years against better teams.

Johnny is still a beauty though. Always will be.

11th best points percentage so games in hand doesn’t matter

Also they followed that sweep with TWO CUPS so ya I’m sure their fans got over it

I thought it was a good high tempo game that the Flames played well in, tough to lose but they're going to beat most teams playing like that.

Yes Tampa is a top team that the Flames will have to beat come the playoffs but there's still time left in the season to improve the roster.

If the Flames had played like this the other night against Florida it could have been a different outcome.

I think Sean Monahan is still a good player and just needs better linemates.

I thought Dan Vladar had a good game too except for those 2 quickies at the end. Shots were pretty close 33-27 in favor of Tampa.

So how do you know how it will turn out for the Flames? Or maybe you don't want it to turn out good considering when things are going well you are nowhere to be found.

Flames have the 11th highest point percentage in the league - which means they are the 11th best team in the league.

Right about this time three years ago....

The Blues entered the new calendar of year of 2019 near the bottom of the Western Conference. On the morning of January 3, the Blues were officially in last place with a record of 15-18-4 and 34 points. The Blues were tasked with rebuilding their identity with nearly half of the regular season gone. Up to that point, only two other teams had ever made playoffs after being in last place at some point following the turn to a new calendar year.

The Flames are in a lot better place now...than the Blues were.

11 best in points percentage
most travel
most road games
top five strength of schedule

means nothing unless they take advantage but I still expect top 3 in the pacific. Really they should be challenging for the division.

At least this place will (hopefully) only be unbearable with the negative posters popping up until we whoop the Canes tomorrow.

Lightning are good. Back to back cups good. They had some jump in their game with Kucherov back.

Fair enough, still better than the BJ's when they swept TB. Actually better than the Kings the 1st time Sutter took them all the way. I am saying just because the Flames lost 2 in a row, on the road, against two powerhouse teams does not mean the sky is falling and they might as well pack it in like some of the doom and gloom crowd are crowing on here.

Who’s saying they should pack it in?

Literally no one has said that at any point this season.

They should make significant changes to IMPROVE the roster and bring in multiple pieces to give them more fire power against good teams

They built that team by having one of the historically worst ownership groups buy the team and give way too much money to their top three offensive players, so they had nothing left for goaltending or the rest of their roster.

Remember, those were the owners who Jay Feaster refused to work with because they wanted to give Lecavalier an insane contract... and he was right.

That contract was so bad that they're still paying him $1.76 million per year for another 5 seasons beyond this one on the buyout. They were just lucky that it was a compliance buyout with no cap hit.

I don't know if that's really something that can be duplicated (or something you'd really want to).

A silver lining is that these blowout losses motivates the group to be better.

So, does anyone know anything about the Gaudreau Stamkos incident? Kind of weird.

Two wins in the last eight games......both wins against bottom feeders.

Yet, because of how they bottomed out they built the foundation for a decade of success.

Also, we as Flames fans have plenty of experience with laughable contracts as we handed out big money deals to players who shouldn’t have even been in the league anymore as they couldn’t play NHL quality hockey ($4.5M x 4 to Troy Brouwer and 5 x $5.75M to James Neal).

Stamkos aggressively hooked Johnny which directly led to Stamkos being able to break up the ice with the puck leading to the goal. Johnny was pissed off and went at ‘em.

That is absolutely complete bull####. Not one person could say with a straight face that the Flames have had an easier schedule than the Oilers and the Oilers don’t even show up in the top 5?? WTF??
