While true there’s a lot of them they are mostly useless. I believe based on what I’ve seen from watching this team all these years is there’s a Grand Canyon difference between what Pitlick brings and what 99% of AHL “energy guys” bring.
99% of “energy guys” bring one-two shifts of effort, and then float the rest of the game. Pitlick works hard just about every shift and he actually body checks. Another thing many AHL energy guys kind of don’t do.

Zadorov since maybe late November has brought some value to the roster.
IMO he's better than at least 4 of the Oilers current d-men. I know that's not saying much, but he's shown both toughness and offensive ability of late.

Considering Sutter likes his vets not really. My point being you can't possibly know if he is an NHL players unless he gets a chance at playing in the NHL.

Ritchie is about same skillset as Pitlick, maybe slightly better but it doesn’t matter because he never gets chances, meanwhile about 50% of Pitlicks work ethic.
Doesn’t hit as much either.

If Tyler Pitlick is our biggest gripe I’d say we’re doing all right. Brutal start but took over after Gio’s goal.

Weird names on that team. Soucy, Geekie, Gourde. Like a Tarantino movie.

Ritchie is currently averaging 11.83 chances/60 (29th in the entire NHL). Pitlick is averaging 5.39 per 60.
Hits don't really matter as a figure.

But will they fill the key role that this 4th line has now?
Will they bust their asses (maybe, probably for young guys I admit- but again I am skeptical they’ll work as consistently) and will they hit? Will they push and shove and grind it out? Or will they try and score to secure a roster spot?
Im enjoying the 4th line actually having an identity and role for the first time in years (decades?).

Is he scoring?
That isn’t the 4th lines role.
Hits don’t matter?!?!
We will never agree if that is actually what you believe.

And hope sells tickets and puts money in owners' pockets, but hope doesn't necessarily bring results which is ultimately what the team should be after.
Pitlick, Richardson and Lewis are better than our AHL energy guys and that's why they are playing.

Sure. But better to let him play huge minutes in Stockton.
There is no reason to rush him.

It should be. All four lines should be fast and more than capable of scoring. This isn't 1997.
