Been watching The Chestnut Man - pretty good so far. It’s Danish so watching with subtitles but very well done overall. Reminiscent of the good UK crime dramas.

Thats exactly it. It was supposed to be about one thing and then just snowballed unintentionally into insanity.

Now the insanity is front and centre, you know these people are generally scum of the Earth. That genie is out of the bottle.

I dont care what happens to any of these idiots. They were getting away with living their lives in obscurity then they got a spotlight shone on them and they're scurrying around like vermin.

I dont care about any of that. Let the Animal Activists and PETA tear these idiots apart now that their indiscretions have become public domain. Thats their purview.

The magic that was the original cant be 're-created' because it was a genuine surprise discovery, but that discovery has now been made, I'm uninterested and unconcerned about the consequences of that discovery for this group of genuinely unlikeable if not loathsome people.

Red Notice is about as paint-by-numbers as you can get for an action movie. The interactions between Reynolds and the Rock were entertaining, but everything other than that was immediately forgettable, including Gadot. She really has zero acting range, can't imagine she's relevant for much longer aside from being a beautiful woman

Yeah I decided to give it a watch and it wasn't even as entertaining as Free Guy IMO. Even the Ryan/Rock interactions sometimes were too forced.

I couldnt get over how bad some of the green screen was

Almost every scene after the first action set piece, you could tell they werent in the same room as the people behind them, the party was most noticeable

What did they spend the money on? They clearly didnt travel to any of the actual locations

Binged watched the last 6 episodes of Arcane last night and it was great! No clue about the game and the show doesn't make me want to play it but I am so in for season 2. I really enjoyed how they showed emotion in this, you could really feel for the characters.

+1 for Arcane. Really well done and great art style, akin to Into the Spiderverse in quality, imo.

Would pretty much watch anything that comes out from the same creators even if I don't know any of the League of Legends characters.

I was thinking of that while watching Tiger King 2 when the psychic did his pathetic bull#### act. Standing by a lake on the property saying he felt "bad juju", then pretends he's going to be sick, then says he can see he was murdered on that spot from behind. Next he sits down and starts crying.

I don't know who is more disgusting, psychics or evangelists/priests. Scum of the earth.

I actually feel bad for Baskin now. It sounds like her husband flew off to Costa Rica to womanize, and she's had to put with everyone's crap ever since, including that Joe Exotic country western music video.

I’m not usually into musicals too much, but I really enjoyed tick tick Boom - I thought it was a great performance by Andrew Garfield, and a pretty engaging true story.

Netflix got seasons 5&6 of Hunter X Hunter over the summer. Season 5 is the Chimaera Ant Arc, which I think is the best story arc of any anime, ever. I've read the manga a few times but just got around to watching the anime version. It's just a masterpiece of world and character building, it draws off all the major elements introduced in the first 4 seasons and just explodes into a wild story with lots of big moments that were perfectly built up and executed.

The anime version is amazing.

The live-action one only barely, vaguely, kinda-sorta resembles it, if you squint, really, really hard.

We watched the Harder they fall the other day.. woof i did not like that movie. It was extremely predictable, I mean most westerns are. I just couldn't get in to it and my wife wanted to watch it because of Idris Elba.

I like musicals. I’m not sure Tick Tick Boom will be my style but I’m eager to give it a go.
