Unpopular opinion but I don’t think I would even want Hall, anymore.

I think the plus is less than valimaki.
Monahan is slightly younger, missed less time due to injury historically, and has a contract beyond next season. Forsberg is a UFA.

Monahan is on-track to reclaim his spot as Johnny's center. I wouldn't be surprised to see
Gaudreau Monahan Magiapane
Tkachuk Lindholm Coleman
happening very, very soon.
I would much rather trade Backlund and keep Monahan at this point. In fact, Backlund + Valimaki and a 1st for a young, legitimate top-six right-shot RW like Terry or Batherson sounds pretty good to me.
Edit: Maybe Pelletier instead of Valimaki... that way we can move Valimaki for a top-9 C if Dube craps the bed as the #3C

Why would Anaheim or Ottawa trade Terry or Batherson for quantity over quality?
Those guys are both over a pt/g right now.

e1 - he made it up
e2 - he made it up while drunk
e3 - he made it up while stoned
e4 - he made it up while drunk AND stoned
e5 - his Rice Krispies made it up and told him all about it

That's an interesting take. With line shakeups, I could see it happening on occasion with injuries or slumps, but I think the top line with Johnny, Lindholm and Tkachuk will remain as the line the vast majority of the time this season.

There’s an honest-to-God Rice Krispies shortage right now - the factory that makes them is on strike.

Because most teams simply sit around dreaming up ideas of how to help the Flames.
Perhaps Calgary should trade Mangi for 3 pieces we'll soon forget?

Why would Nashville want Monahan and Valimaki for forsberg?
Would you take a 3rd liner and a healthy scratch for Gaudreau?

They would rather get a first rounder for him at the deadline, and utilize the cap space in better ways.
I guess it depends if Monny gets back to being Monny. He's taken some steps, to be sure, but he's no where close yet.

Monahan is starting to show flashes of top 6 and he’s been on PP1 the entire year so let’s stop pretending he’s a bottom 6 player because he’s not. Forsberg has had the same types of injury issues over the past few years just like Monahan and is a UFA at the end of the year as well while Monahan carries one more year of contract. I also added Valimaki and the mid pick with the caveat of not enough?? So clearly I wasn’t insinuating this as what my personal offer would be I was using it as a basis for discussion. Finally what do you honestly expect we could get in a trade for Gaudreau?? His 5 team trade list posses a significant obstacle and while players can always consider waiving I highly doubt a team would offer what we as fans would be hoping for in a trade of Gaudreau so it’s kind of pointless to ask would you take questions for Gaudreau at this point as I’ll most likely be mega disappointed with the return (dems the breaks when you’re forced to trade high end soon to be UFA’s)

He's showing signs of life but until Monahan can score a goal at even strength I cannot consider him a top 6 player.

Well I guess I disagree he's shown flashes of being a top 6 player. He can produce on the pp that is forsure as he can still score from up close. I just don't think that trade makes any sense for the Predators. If they're going to trade Forsberg would take a lot more imo.
And that's not even me thinking the value of Forsberg is that high I just don't think Nashville really sees a fit for Monahan or Valimaki. They draft defenceman like no other team.
Without Mangiapane + I don't see a trade with Nashville working.

Yeah I am not seeing top 6 yet with him. He's still struggling to get it done at either end.

I would love to see Monahan come back to his old top 6 scoring ways, I am still going to give him time to recover from his surgery, but ya right now he is not a top 6 guy.

Come on, the Predators are a team that loves to collect overpaid mediocre centers.
Duchene, Johanson, Turris. Monahan is exactly the prototypical Nashville player.
