My point is, a so-called defensive defenseman who is a bad passer, is a liability.
Zadorov is basically what I was expecting Gudbranson to be.
To wit you're right, a team can afford to have one purely defensive defenseman on its roster, especially on its third pair where they won't be dragging down the offensive zone opportunities of the top nine forwards on a consistent basis.
But we already have that - it's Gudbranson and he can make an outlet pass.
