That was a horrifically boring hockey game to watch in person. Not sure how it looked on TV, but I was left feeling the Flames played down to the Sharks.

Sharks didn’t even show up till the third was the summation of the box I was in. Too bad too cause had some of the local sharks family in there with us.

That was kind of what I was expecting from the Flames coming into the season. Not giving up much but not generating much in the way of quality or just lacking in finish. That’s when you’re susceptible to a hot goalie. Luckily the Flames have played much better than that before tonight.

Baffled as to why Darryl is playing Coleman and Mangiapane so little.

Only saw the third but I heard Flames had a ton of chances in the second.

Season is 82 games. Not all are going to be Rembrandts.

Wish we'd save these ones for non-Pacific opponents though.

It would be nice.

Taking these head to heads will become pretty important when all is said and done.

Because Mangiapane isn't good defensively that's why. He needs to learn to play better in the defensive end. Him and Dube look lost most nights when they aren't shooting 40%.

Some really need to temper expectations with Mangiapane. He is still learning at the NHL level and Sutter is making him a better player.

Eichel would have finished one of those countless high danger scoring chances…

Don't know how to do the fancy twitter embed.
it's [tweet]number[slashtweet]

where number is the long ~20 digit number at the end of every twitter link

Eichel would have set Mangiapane up for a backdoor snipe somewhere while adding a powerplay goal. Second best player in our division. Third best player in our conference.

IMO Coleman could be doing a little more to earn more icetime.

Mangiapane and Coleman have both been driving play extremely well in their very limited minutes... Lewis certainly hasn't done anything to earn more ice at 5v5. Nor has Monahan.

Lewis seems to be a favourite of D. Sutter for some reason and it goes back to the LA King days. It may take a lot for him to reduce Lewis' minutes or not play him.

Well, that game seemed like a bag of garbage.

It felt like there was entirely too much Richardson-Monahan-Lewis/Zadarov-Gudbranson.

Well it is a long season and Monahan’s 5on5 icetime and quality of linemates has taken a big hit. I think they are trying to manage that situation as long as the team is winning.

We are already seeing some of this with Monahan. I've never seen him work the boards the way that he has been doing.

As for Coleman, I think that he is a bad match on the Backlund-Pitlick line. It would all come together if there was a skilled RW to put on that line, moving Pitlick down to play with Monahan, but a skilled RW doesn't exist on the team to plug into that spot.

Fella named Gawdin is more than a point per game in Stockton and happens to play RW.

Thought the Flames were just WAY off tonight...loads of giveaways in their own zone - 3 on one shift in the third...just not attentive. Like lots of coaches have stated in the past....they hate it when a team gets on a run b/c the players all start tp think they're better than they actually are and stop working.

Workboots were half-off tonight, and reflexes were nonexistent. Too slow by a ton all night long.
