Are the Panthers officially the best team in the league now?
God, that sounds so weird to even think, let alone say out loud.

Yes, I would say the Panthers are currently the best team in the league. I was already leaning this way before tonight's game, but now it's a little more set in stone.

Can we get a Panthers-Oilers game here to really hit home the reality of what a top team looks like for those morons north of us?
With a couple Bennett goals on top.

Spencer Knight is great. It no longer matters if Bob is inconsistent.

Why are the Maple Leaf wearing whites at home?

I think it's going to be great for the health of the league to have Carolina, Florida, and Tampa all elite at the same time. Hopefully they can meet more in the playoffs and create some lasting rivalries. But I think those are the top 3 teams in the league right now.

Price, Weber, Byron all out for a considerable stretch… I'd say Montreal has the injury excuse, too.

The Bruins have worn that black jersey a few times on the road already this season. Not sure why, but I'd guess that's the reason.

Yes, and he was the keystone of their defence right through the Habs' playoff run last year. He's only retiring because… guess what… he's injured!

The roadkill continues as the Coyotes are losing 3-2 after forty minutes.
San Jose is up 1-0 also after two periods.

Crause and Kessel have scored for the Coyotes! They lead 4-3 now with less than six minutes in regulation time.

Girodano ties it up for the Kraken and then 13 seconds later, Crowse scores. The Coyotes finally win a game.

The Devils and Kings are tied 2-2 in overtime. Burns has assisted on both of the Sharks goals.

Help, save, whatever.

I realized after not seeing the Leafs play the Bruins in so long how much I hate them. That was an awesome game with the crowd really into it though.

So are you going to count him as a missing player forever? he is not on their roster and never will be again
Flames are missing Peplinski due to injury I guess

That's an absurd comparison. Peplinski wasn't injured, he straight-up retired, and that was over 30 years ago (not counting his brief attempt at a comeback). Weber was playing right through last season's playoffs. He would still be playing if it weren't for his injury, and the Habs are still paying him. Not having him on the roster this year is a significant contributing factor in the Habs' worst start in 80 years.
