No way in hell with that tandem, defense, and dead weight in the bottom 6.

But also Connor's lack of commitment in his own end playing into it as well, which he showed in that last series. No one up North will pin him for it cause they don't have the nuts to, but he contributed to their losses also.

Flames are a better 5 on 5 team for sure...my worry would be the year of whining about playoff penalties

Pretty much everything in the last few pages is extremely premature.

And yes, the Flames would be a very tough out for the Oilers. And they would have more than a small chance. Sutter is about two tiers above Tippett on the hierarchy of coaches, and as he has demonstrated a few times over the years, that counts for something.

This team is his project, it was raw when he inherited it, and he's getting a full season now to work out the kinks and grit and making this roster the machine he envisions it being.
