This. I've approached this the exact way since Calgary was first mentioned in the same breath as Eichel. We all know how this will end because well... it's the Flames afterall.

To me, that implies that Vegas has an LTIR problem if they trade for Eichel, unless they can convince the league that he can't play until the playoffs. The thing about being into LTIR is that you can't accrue any cap space, so you can't save cap space now for when he returns.

And then they have to make the playoffs without him, which is by no means certain after their start and with all of their injuries.

And then they still have to clear salary before the beginning of next season.

It also implies that the Flames know that this is a problem for Vegas. At least I'm hoping that coming from the Director of Marketing, it's a bit of a nudge-nudge, wink-wink hint to the Flames' fanbase.

LTIR shouldn't a problem for Calgary unless there isn't enough salary going the other way. Which is also why Tkachuk and Zadorov make sense as two of the pieces going to Vegas.

I certainly hope that the NHL doesn't let Vegas get away with a Tampa Bay. It would be especially embarrassing if the league allowed a trade that was intended specifically for the purpose of cap circumvention. If this tweet is implying that LTIR is a problem because it can be circumvented and that the NHL allows it, then I hope that the league gets another big black eye for this, to match the one it already has over the Blackhawks' sexual abuse/coverup scandal.
