I am not really worried about him right now. Maybe he was trying to do too much? We all knew he was bounced-around for a reason after all, with Calgary being his 4th team.
If Calgary's coach was still Gulutzan, Peters or Ward, I would have agreed that the Flames should go the waivers route in the hopes he gets picked up. However, under Sutter? No way. I bet he turns around. I bet that in a month or two, that there is a legitimate chance that many people will say: "Thank goodness we have him". I have faith in Sutter being the 'defensive defencemen whisperer'. Gudbranson has been very good so far (though as I pointed out, fans from the American teams he was on stated exactly that). Sutter has a long track list of bringing guys in and getting them to be good. As long as Zadorov is willing to put the work in and listen to Sutter, he will improve. He has a lot of tools - size, agility, spectacular hits, and fairly good underlying shot suppression numbers. However...
I just hope he becomes better at passing the puck. Easily the worst puck-mover that I have ever seen on the Flames that I can recall. Yes, that includes names that I won't say as it still haunts a few of us too much (Erickson and Hale - Happy Halloween!). Those two were something terrible, but I do recall that they were not that bad at actually moving the puck (just about everything else though!). I am sure he can improve there a bit until he is at least passable.
