I actually heard he will be back fairly soon.

Original thought was it was really bad but apparently it’s not as bad as they initially thought.

Monahan. Valamaki. A 1st should be enough to get it done. Maybe throw in Zary

He doesn’t fit the mould of 4 ‘first round picks.’
He has an expiring contract and is still a top 6 forward. So come Trade Deadline he is a player who may be able to be traded for a first round pick in this draft, or next.

I would think that Buffalo would want to be able to get these futures into something tangible sooner than later after they make a deal like this.

Seeing the Flames play the way they are under Sutter, makes me want them to grab Eichel even more.

If this team is actually legit, adding a prime aged #1C (when he comes back) isn't going to hurt at all.

Agreed especially if they lose Monahan off the roster and 1 of Valimaki/Dube I think they can weather that storm with the current roster and would be very formidable when Eichel gets healthy

Looks like some HF guy who claims to be in know says Vegas has a deal done just need to iron out details. Take that for what it is worth which is as much as that Flames fan saying he had inside knowledge it was really close with Calgary yesterday

I'm ready for it to be over. If Krebs is the prospect they want then Flames can't compete

Can someone enlighten me on why Krebs is so valuable? Seems like a mid first round pick to me.

Some dude on HFboards is claiming to have connections and its basically a done deal. Who knows if its true but this makes me sad if the Flames will continue to do nothing.

I found out through a direct hockey connection that he's going to Vegas.

I don't know for what, but I imagine two firsts, a second, Peyton Krebs, Reilly Smith and Jack Dugan.

But they'd also need to trade Dadonov
.

Strike when the team is hot.

The team playing well should not deter them from making a huge upgrade at center. If anything, it should give you that much more reason to get them that extra gamebreaker to help ease the need to score by committee each night and solidify them at that next level.

The Flames are showing Treliving and all of us that they're worth spending for a roster upgrade.

Top 10 talent who slipped in his draft because of a torn Achilles. Has progressed well since being drafted and probably has top line potential. Personally I see him more as a high end second line player or adequate first liner. Not totally convinced he will produce at a high level at the nhl level. But could be a top 6 with a very strong two way game

Would you rather:

Zary, Pelletier, Coronato

Or

Krebs

Just have to wait and see. It does feels like the end of this is near. We'll see who's right on this.

Is Krebs on his own really better than Zary + Pelletier/Dube?

Krebs might be the best prospect here, but I don't think it's a big difference between him and Zary.

The thing with Vegas is sure they can LTIR and use that same loophole TB did but they would be absolutely screwed next year. I can't fathom how they can make it work cap wise.

That's a comparison you can only accurately assess in 2-3 years when some of our guys are seeing NHL ice.

Comparing a plant to three good seeds is a pretty unfair comparison at this stage.

I think Pelletier and Coronato are going to be players though.

This isn’t transaction-related, but a helpful from HF related to artificial disk replacement.

“your comment about being completely paralyzed is just straight out false in relation to extra risk of getting ADR.

I’m getting the exact surgery this winter, I'm not a pro athlete, I'm a brick layer. I had the choice between a fusion or ADR and it was an easy decision to pick ADR. The percentage of 100% recovery is extremely high, while it's a guarantee a fusion will affect my mobility for life.”

If Buffalo projects Krebs as a top line player I get why they would take him

I think there is a pretty sizeable difference
And ultimately it only matters how Buffalo ranks them
