Lol, well you can hold it in as high esteem as you like. The fact is, it's the third rung. Sure, a trophy is a trophy, but if we win that there are no players flocking to Spurs as a result.

It is what it is. A fantastic opportunity for lesser struggling clubs to try and make the Europa league.

I can understand it though. Managers know that the league is more important, so they don’t want to play the ‘A’ team in these matches.

I have no issues with teams from the top 4 or 5 leagues using reserve squads early in the competition, no different than the league cups, theres too much football anyway when you add in the internationals
But it means a lot to a ton of these clubs in it
