I didn't think that should have been a double minor even, Yamamoto threw a punch back and got nothing. I did like the aggression by Rasmus though pushing him out of the crease and onto the backboards.

Cmon dino im talking about the ones after he dropped his gloves and was punching and the ref/linesman or whoever was in there. Thats not every scrum.
Either way was just wondering if that played in.

sounds like a hockey game to me
$5000 fine to a multimillionaire is nothing to be upset about, just seems odd.
Had it happened in a Wild/Blues Tuesday night game without HNIC panel and Oiler idiots on twitter I bet we never even hear another word of it.
I watched a Lighting/Panthers preseason game where that was happening after almost every whistle

Yeah, no. Often you get a shot or two, but if the other guy isn’t engaged, you stop throwing
It’s kind of a ‘read the room’ thing

Summary:
The same thing will happen without a fine in the NHL multiple times this season (throwing a few punches in a scrum after a guy bumps the goalie)
HNIC/Twitter firestrom caused the league to act. because they are idiots
I mention the Panthers because something similar happened in a Panthers/Lightning preseason game (I assumed the biggest Bennett fan watched it) and there were exactly zero fines.
Got it? this is not the new standard for a fine...I will be proven right again and again this season
