Default Comedian Richard Jeni dead at 45

One of the busiest funny men in Hollywood. Seems like he was involved in something all the time on TV.

Yeah, I remember seeing him first years ago on something with his own stand up routine (I want to say A&E, or Just for Laughs, 10 years ago or so).
Very funny stuff, and that was his tame stuff. Saw lots of his standup since
on various networks (and the XM Comdey channel)...that was his not so tame stuff.

Too bad...

Man, if you are going to kill yourself in such a grusome way, don't leave yourself in a place where your girlfriend is going to stumble upon you. Why ruin her life?

Unless the suicide was to spite her.

Wow. I think the worst part about that article is the fact that he didn't die immediately. Could you imagine shooting yourself in the head only to NOT die right away??? Creepy.

Off the top of my head, I can't remember this guys work, but looking at the article his face I seen in a lot of places I'm sure. As for FireFly's comment, I was watching a special on TLC a few weeks back about a boy that shot himself in the head and ripped off his whole front of his face shattering his skull and face completely. It was amazing how he survived, and they described in detail how when the ambulance came they thought he was dead until all of a sudden they seen him trying to feel his face and there was nothing there. It's a shame people choose to end their lives...no matter how bad a situation is, if only they thought how it can be worse.

Aa a firefighter unfortunately I've been to many suicide calls and they seem to bother me the most.To me they are such a waist...if only that person could have gotten some help. That and the pain they cause to family members,I always feel soooo bad for them.

I read somewhere that he did it because of a terminal illness. He does look pretty pale and unhealthy in that pic with Chris Rock.

My brother used to be a social worker in a Calgary Hospital and he relayed a story along the same lines that creeped him out immensely. Apparently it was a murder/attempted suicide where things didn't go as planned. The guy shot his wife to death and then put the gun under his chin to shoot himself in the head. Unfortunately for him, he only succeeded in blowing his face off his head. The paramedics reported that when they arrived on scene that the guy was walking/stumbling around the scene of the crime while making gutteral moaning/screaming noises. The description gave me the willies.

Its unfortunate when someone believes that taking their own life will be better than fixing the messes they have caused. RIP Mr. Jeni
