Gonna be exciting tomorrow! Anything can happen. Just need either the Yanks or the Sox to lose. Oh and a Jays win.

According to 538 - odds on the games tomorrow

https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com...ictions/games/
  • Rays 49% / Yankees 51%
  • Red Sox 58% / Nationals 42%
  • Orioles 31% / Jays 69% (nice)
  • Angels 42% / Mariners 58%

Odds of a 4 way tie assuming the Mariners win tonight (Team Chaos)

49% x 42% x 69% x 58% = 8.23%

Odds of the Blue Jays getting a tie breaker game

1 - (0.51 x 0.58) x 0.69 = 48.58%

Using the old coin flip method

Team Chaos = 6.25%
Blue Jays Tie Breaker Game = 37.5%

The Angels had a real chance at getting ahead in this game at 1-1 with runners on the corners and 0 out with the top of the order up, and boom, double play ball.

I don't know if there is a sport that can be as exhilarating and as frustrating as baseball.

The highs of baseball are like no other where the immense frustration is often unmatched.

I just remind myself of that one stretch about a 1 1/2 months ago where the Blue Jays just gave away games... so frustrating knowing that could cost them a playoff spot.

But then again, I'm sure the Yankees / Red Sox gave away a few games as well.

Exactly. All teams win games they should have lost and lost games they should have won. I try not to dwell on things like that. It's frustrating to think of the bullpen issues but that was all the Jays had at the time. Their pen was decimated before the season began really. It took a bit too long for Richards, Cimber, Mayza and Romano to stabilize the pen. But that's the situation. The Yankees have rarely had Judge and Stanton healthy at the same time. The Red Sox lost their ace for a long time. The Rays....well they're just kind of unstoppable.

It's what I imagine a college radio broadcast would sound like. Too high energy, not refined, but entertaining.

Mariners are just a terrible ball club who know how to clutch up like no one else.

And Mariners get lucky again. Frankly I don't care now that they lost yesterday as I only care about the Jays, but these guys are so lucky.

Lucky that they always get the late comeback. Luck may not be the word, but they always seem to get it at the end.

Oh yeah, they definitely don't belong in this playoff race. I agree with you there.
