I didn't get a chance to see anything from the last game, but the first game of a rookie camp is closer to a scrimmage than anything resembling real competition. Tonight will probably give a slightly better indication of the capabilities of these players.
I'll probably peek in to watch a period or two, only because I haven't seen anything from anyone not named Zary, Pelletier, Kuznetsov, or Wolf.

Weird to see so many Russian names on a Flames roster.
The last time a Russian Flames draft pick played an NHL game for the team was freakin' Saprykin in 2004. I think that could change this season with either Kuznetsov or Zavgorodniy.

Kinnvall is probably going to get actual pre-season games.
Outside of Poirier and Kuznetsov it's unlikely any of the other players do.
So just a chance to see the other guys they are unlikely to see later into camp.
