Question? Have these two players done anything else of note? Or is their only claim to fame having all 5 vowels in their last name?

Starting Linebackers ... nothing anymore special than that.
If you like I can tell you teams they played on.

Sorry guys, I had forgotten to check back and see if I was right. Hope I didn't hold up the fun for too long!

I was the first ever black player at my position in American Professional Football.
During the Conferance Semi-finals on a 1st and goal from the 1. I was responsible for two tackles against the defending Super Bowl Champions. It was the biggest goal line defense in team history eventually leading to a Super Bowl Victory.
I was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Another hint.
I was such a verocious hitter, that my teams trainer had to put extra padding on the outside of my helmet, to protect the players I was hitting.

During WWII, I was a machine gunner at the Battle of the Bulge.
I broke my leg during an NFL title game, but refused to leave the bench area untill after I had witnessed my team win in overtime.
I am a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the NFL's 75th Anniversary team.

When, at halftime, the team I owned found out that I had died, the team rallied to defeat the Chicago Bears 21-17.
