Sharks made offers to 4 players. Heading into free agency with $16mill, second only the the Penguins ($29mill). Priority is to shore up our forward depth.

The Lightning made zero offers. The entire batch is bust territory, and all the folks who win the players are going to be losers in the end.
Lightning might change their mind closer to Wednesday. Only those players who they win won’t bust.

I also made two bid because..meh..why not?
I will say this though: If I get the players I bid on I will change my view on the UFA system and sing its praises.
If I don't get the players I will continue to dislike it.
So, ball is in your court Jiri.
But seriously, I feel like batch 2 is going to have higher numbers than batch 1. After seeing the results of batch 1 everyone wants to get in on the action. I know I do.

History says the numbers won't be higher so if you do bid higher you are almost guaranteed a player but will be stuck with a contract you might have some trouble moving. Batch 2 70ish players are not worth $5mill IMO but if they are to you, giver.
