Absolutely have to take 3 of 4 here from Cleveland to be in a good spot going into the weekend Boston series.

Royals had just taken 3 of 4 against the White Sox and 2 of 2 against the Brewers so taking all 3 against the Royals is a great outcome. The Jays SHOULD be beating these teams but as we all know winning is not easy in the MLB.

8 games in 7 days coming up. And then another double header to start their west coast swing after a day off.

Great timing to have picked up an additional starting arm.

Mariners have a bunch of games against the Yankees, Jays Rays and Astros coming up. They will suffer greatly.

I think you want them to somehow fluke out wins vs Yankees and Rays though

Ryu
Manoah
Ray

Bullpen:

This Blue Jay's team is just so much fun to watch, both on and off the field. Does anyone in the league have more fun than Vladdy? I think not. The price was high for Berrios but the team deserved the bump. Watch out for them down the stretch for sure...

Mayza has to be in there for me. He's been arguably their best reliever, tied for 1st in WAR out of the pen. Also, if Merryweather is miraculously healthy somehow, no way you leave him off. Just my 2 cents.

Remember when the Jays signed 38 year old John Axford?

Well, he's been pitching in AAA and lighting it up.

11.2 IP
0.77 ERA
0.514 WHIP
15 Ks
3 Walks

Apparently the Jays just sent him to the Brewers for cash though.

Such an odd move. They need bullpen help. In a year where it wouldn't cost them anything but cheap cash, why deal him to the Brewers?

Yeah, I was hoping to see Ax up here, but I can't see who they would bump off the 40-man for a 38 year old to take the spot. Especially when they've already shored up the bullpen pretty good in the time between them signing Axford and him being ready for a call up. In that time they've added:

Cimber
Richards
Soria
Hand

..and they also added Berrios which will eventually push a starter into the pen.

If it was me though, I would have punted Dolis and brought Axford up to take his spot, but what do I know? haha
