Who ever said he would be the top-line RW in Calgary?
The stats say he was played like a 2nd-line forward. Call that meaningless if you like; I'll know never to trust your judgement about meaning.

Who's our top line RW then? Tkachuk on his off wing? Mangiapane? Dube? Brett Ritchie? That's 10lbs of crap in a 5lb bag

Honestly, I don't get it.
You seem to agree that Coleman's impressive numbers in scoring and play drive x 60 mins which place him firmly in the top-six among forwards for the Stanley Cup champions were all accrued on the third line. Would that not suggest that he will be considerably better playing consistently in the top six in Calgary? He was producing like a top-six forward despite not getting top-six assignments in TB. How is this a bad thing?

Based on last season's results, yes.
Anyhow, who would be the top line RW if the team did as you wish and did not sign Coleman? Subtracting him from the roster wouldn't make them any deeper.

6 years of Coleman > 7 years of Hyman.

Not to mention he was in a shutdown role playing against opposing top players, which would suggest that playing in Calgary in a top 6 role in more offensive situations would help his numbers improve even further

Coleman will be playing with marginally better players (Calgarys 1st line vs Tampas 3rd) while taking on much more difficult opposition. I believe he's gonna be an OK acquisition but for his price tag he will never live up to it.

I'm on team tank for Wright and Bedard. They could put looch in goal and I'd be happy

As I've said elsewhere, how do you propose to out-tank Arizona and Buffalo? Very likely, no matter what efforts you make to destroy the team, you don't get either of those players. What does that leave you with?

Considering Coleman played the most minutes among ALL Lightning forwards against Elite competition last season (vis PuckIQ), I highly doubt that will be true.
In fact, I can almost guarantee it.

Meh to each their own, if your choice is to cheerlead a 3rd liner on a great team playing a much bigger role here, that's all good. I'm sure glue tastes delicious but I'll take your word for it.

Not a huge contract so not much to be upset about. I’m always wary of depth guys coming from Stanley cup winners. Rarely live up to it.

Coleman: 12 EVG, 29 EVP
RNH......: 7 EVG, 15 EVP

You're the one who insists that it's glue.
People keep posting proof that Coleman was not playing 3rd-line minutes or 3rd-line situations in Tampa. You keep claiming that he's a 3rd-liner based on nothing but your own say-so. I think I know which side I'm likely to believe.

Are you asking for my opinion of the RNH contract? Or can you not look at anything without an Edmonton slant?
I hate the contract and have hated the player for a long while.

So many posters with this style of late, and ya know what I'm singling you out.
Why the excessive hyperbole? Just chill dude.
Mangiapane can play throughout the lineup. He's grown immensely the last 24 months, and would've had second most goals on your revered Lightning.

I was pointing out that Coleman is not a depth guy. He would have been 3rd on the Oilers for even strength points last year, 8 ahead of Puljujarvi
