I'd put a good amount of deer urine (available at hunting supply stores) in each garbage bag next week. I'd laugh my ass off at the thought of some loser sifting through urine soaked garbage.

This is no Joke. My brother had his identity stolen. The guy would steal the credit card bills that he had taken out in his name from his mail box. By the time the collection agencies got in touch with my brother there was $60,000 in debt racked up.

Just so you know, taking trash that has been put out at the curb isn't a crime. Once it is at the curb waiting to be picked up then it is considered fair game.

However, identity theft is a big problem and many people don't even take minimal steps to protect themselves.

Am I missing something? If you're smart, you shred any personal identifying information, so ID theft is not an issue. So, why call the police?

Then, why do you care if some guy steals your garbage. I'd bet he's just looking for things he can salvage. Someone's garbage is another's gold, don't you know?
