We are competing with Edmonton FFS. If we don't have a building that is on par or better we've failed. ...seriously.
How can we have a building look so dull. ?
We can do way better than this.....can't we?

Our downtown with the beautiful Rockies in the background needs a building that pops like the buildings close by.

I hope they make this right.

Right across from the Petrocan. Really blends in, easy to miss (I kid). To be fair, some of the corrugated panels are translucent the mock-up has them all lit up. The actual building will look better with the lights on.

I am a complete outsider here (from Quebec City) but it's a shame that the clubhouse idea was ditched.
Having everything centralized would probably be more cost efficient and aid in building a "true" event center. The stamps are still pretty popular and soccer is slowly on the rise so it seems like a no brainer for me.

I do not know what the locals want though so yeah..

Is there a view of the big wall on the left? What does that face? Hopefully it’s not a big blank wall.

Giant screen to televise for passers-by.

Not really but that would be cool.

All the years of waiting and drama and more waiting... for that?
I know it's one image, but that's pretty underwhelming. While it's the inside fan experience that truly matters, the exterior still offers an opportunity to make some sort of design statement, and this design choses to say nothing of consequence. You could say it will come down to materials and craftsmanship, but that's not really an area where Calgary excels either.

I'm totally fine, I don't think Locke is though. He seems to be stuck in 2015 and can't move on. I think it's a glitch in the matrix. |

I'd go full Homer Simpson and just design the outer wall full of urinals all the way around the concourse. One urinal for every row of seats!

IIRC, you had me pretty excited about Calgary next, too.

I've since forgiven you.

Hey, CalgaryNEXT was awesome for many reasons. With projects of that magnitude though, you will never please everyone. It's all good. |

I guess I don’t really care that much. I still have issues wrapping my head around why we are subsidizing a facility that will make some of the richest guys in Canada richer - but that being said, we are not the first city to be so dumb and we won’t be the last…….
