Probably similar players but Coleman has produced without stars and Hyman hasn't.

Not much different, honestly. It's one year shorter and a bit cheaper, so that's nice, but in terms of player quality Hyman is probably a bit better overall. Certainly more offensive contributions to be expected there. And Hyman has knee injury history.
I don't love either deal for the long term, but prefer this one somewhat.

When you play the UFA market, you need to be prepared to plug your nose in the later half of any longer term contract.
Calgary is rebuilding in 3 years likely anyway, it won't matter.

Same age. Hyman is injury prone. Hyman probably has more offense, Coleman a little better defensively. Both are physical but Coleman will drop the gloves.
