I like to think of McDavid as a supercharged Honda Civic compared to the Mercedez Benz that Sidney Crosby is.

This wouldn't even be the worst trade a western Canadian team has ever made for Griffin Reinhart.

So if Columbus trades Seth Jones they could have 4 first rounders. That's a lot of chips for a potential Eichel deal.

With the prices today they could have 5 1st rounders if they move Jones!

per Seravalli asking price on Bean is a 2nd rounder.
Would you trade Florida's 2022 for Bean?

Absolutely, and then trade Valimaki with Tkachuk + either our 2021 1st or 2022 1st (top 2 protected) for Eichel.

Only if we figure the top 4 is going to be Hanifin, Tanev, Anderson and Bean. With Valamaki and Mackey as the 3rd

Bean for a 2nd would be a great move, essentially moving Bennett for Bean. Good chance of being able to keep him for a while as a Calgary kid too

Is it a red flag that the GM who drafted Bean so high just passed on him?
Because a 2nd sounds reasonable

Price seems fair. Probably even good if you feel Bean was about to pop. But the Flames already have Valimaki, Mackey, and Kylington as young LD. Bean would probably be a little redundant, no?
I feel like the Flames really need to find a steady physical top 4 d. Bean's a nice player to take a chance on though.

We lost one bean to the expansion draft.
so adding another bean back isn't redundant at all.

Yes the team is in need of a top 4 LD. I just think Bean is redundant in the sense he's a young tweener who can move the puck and has some offense. Flames have a few of those. I think Hanifin takes over as this teams #1, but they need a steady physical top 4 to play behind him for insurance.
Beans a nice guy to take a chance on if you think he pops. Frees the team to move another young D to try and shore up the forward group. But he is not a Gio replacement.
