If having a crotch goblin were a job paying north of $800k a year this planet would be overrun.

Apparently Oilers are the frontrunners?
Edit: I actually don't see anything of substance in this article to indicate so....

Why can't he just develop an equipment allergy and retire on LTIR?

Yeah, when I was watching the Oilers getting swept by the Jets, I kept thinking to myself “That’s a team that’s just a Duncan Keith away...”

Incidentally, when the whole blue defense has strong Corsi/Fenwick, so the forwards. Or is that backwards?

I expected Tanev and Stone, but not the others.
Yeah I wouldn't even pick up a call from CHI.

I was surprised to find how good they were as a group as well.
It certainly bolsters the argument that this team should not be spending significant assets on the blue line; give these guys another stud forward to work with.

Truthfully it's not a hump the Flames need to get over to be a good team. It's a damn mountain they've been climbing for 30 years outside a few good climbs they lucked out on, that they need to get over.
I don't mind Keith as much as others. If the team wants to replace Gio and change the culture, I think Keith is a worthy replacement. Getting a 2x Norris winner, future HOF Conn Smyth winner with multiple 1st and 2nd team all-star selections would be an immediate shift in leadership and he would command instant respect in the locker room.
He probably wouldn't' impact on the ice much. But if somehow by some miracle Gio is swapped for Keith, I would feel 'meh' about it. Flames would get immediate cap savings to upgrade elsewhere and the culture shift the team desperately needs.

I think any of the teams would be okay with him at 50% retention?
I wouldn't mind him on the Oilers at half.
He can likely still be a 4-5 for the next two years. If winning Cups has any kind of value, well I guess Keith would provide that. Not sure if there is any validity to previous winners being a boost to a team though.
The Blackhawks would have to eat some cap recapture for trading his front loaded contract?

Every job can be done in your pyjamas, have you learned nothing the last 16 months?
