I am no fan on DeChambeau, but I certainly understand him declining. It 's a major, and he (presumably) wants to focus on his game. Putting them together would be a circus - why create that drama?

Rough start for the Open....at least 90 minutes in delays because of fog.
Pretty awesome golf course though and one that should provide a test. The first cut looks like its about 4 inches or so.....players best keep it straight this week.

My brother-in-law lives in the area, and was able to get me on. He told me that for that round, I had a different name and if anyone asked who I was, I should give it. He had borrowed a friend's driver's license and checked me in with it so that I paid the local rate.
First time I ever putted on poana greens, and the grain was insane. A clear left-to-right slope, and the ball would go dead straight.
This was many years ago when I was still a beginner. Would love to play it again, though definitely after the course recovers from the open's setup.

Looking like a +2/3 cutline, currently 21 players in a T-55 at +2. And it is top 60 and ties, not 65.

The USGA might get a chance to pair them up for Sunday which would be awesome especially if they both are in contention. I'm golfing tomorrow afternoon so I'll be really disappointed if I miss out on watching Bryson vs Brooks
