What a ridiculously terrible pitch. I can't even imagine the diseases you could catch from turf burn on that carpet lol

Not a bad half... gotta be happy they are winning but haiti look like they might hurt someone and the ref is a halfwit

That card on Laryea was so weak considering the assault Davies dealt with earlier in the half

I’d like to see more from Davies and David. With how hard Haiti is playing Davies I’d like to see him lay the ball off to his teammates faster and create space with his off ball movement. Play some quicker one twos with David. I realize it’s a tough pitch but you’re the best players on the pitch.

Massive second half, let’s go boys!

Borjan and Kennedy saving our bacon in the last few minutes. Wake up fellas

Herdman should make a change soon, lots of tired legs out there

Job done. Clean sheet and a crucial away goal

But a bit of a disaster of a second half. Odd choices by Herdman by taking out Kaye and only having two midfielders out there. Made them really unbalanced and they couldn’t maintain any possession. Phonzie was floating around out there, I would’ve brought Buchanan on for him

But job done, they’ll address it. Huge win!! Do it again on Tuesday

A 1-0 win in Haiti is good enough for me. Would have loved it if David buried his chance in the second half, but all in all a professional job in a difficult country.

Can't wait for Tuesday night. We'll have a watch party at the Rose and Crown for the second leg if anyone wants to join up.

El Salvador won their away leg 4-0 over St. Kitts so they are in the Ocho.

Curacao-Panama about to begin.

And you thought that field was bad. Curacao are making Panama play at Rod Carew Stadium.

Is it pretty though from this angle.

My mistake, that's Rod Carew Stadium in Panama.

Anyways, Panama won 2-1. It was looking good at 2-0 but Curacao got a late away goal. That's huge!

I get where you are coming from because I didn't like that first sub, but haven't minded his tactics. I thought the back 5 he is playing lately with two wingbacks/wingers has been actually a good use of Davies and Laryea and gives the team a lot of flexibility against teams that pose a bit of a threat, but you want to be able to quickly switch to attack against. More than anything I like seeing him adjust to the opponent, nothing worse than a manager who plays the same formation every game regardless of circumstances. I will miss you at Palace Roy Hodgson but I am looking at you lol.

Herdman has definitely benefitted from centre-backs emerging at an absolutely ideal time though to be able to play his system for the last two games.

Henry is a nightmare with the ball, being able to plug in Kennedy and Johnston back there has been huge, those two have come almost out of nowhere it feels like and I feel like their importance can't be overstated. Two real good defenders who are ok with the ball.

I am way ahead of myself but if they can qualify, FIFA rules changed again and Tomori can switch next fall... if they can convince him to with promise of two world cups, all of a sudden the 11 is ridiculously good for a decade. Be nice if Ferreira can find a club too and start playing again for some insurance.

If we dare to dream, do we think all Ocho home matches will be played in Toronto?

I'd love to catch one live if possible. Maybe if they play at Commonwealth we could drive up.

I got family in Vancouver, I could be son-in-law of the year if I pop by for an unexpected visit

Sounds like Haiti will be without some of their starters tonight. This is setting up nicely for Canada blowing it.

I think they will place these games in the cities where they can maximize revenue for home games. I would assume the Mexico home game would be played in Vancouver, and that Toronto would likely host the majority of the other games.

Personally I'd love a game in Vancouver or Edmonton, I'd be sure to make the trip.

There are more Mexican Canadians in Montreal and Toronto than Vancouver.

And Vancouver had 55000 people show up for Canada / Mexico in 2016, which is more than you can fit at BMO and Stade Saputo combined.
