I hope they don't, but they have come back from third-period deficits in each of the last two games. They certainly have enough game-breaking talent to do it.

Habs using the trap perfectly. Neutral zone clogged up.
Leafs struggle to make plays off rhe rush

Habs defense sucks at generating offense, is average at best at the transition/breakout and is not particularly mobile but they are good defensively with solid positioning. 2003-04 vibes.

I’m writing the story for the Toronto apologist media if they lose:
A) it would have been different if they had Tavares
B) it would have been different is Muzzin was in the lineup
C) Repeat the above

What’s clear is the young guys haven’t taken it to another gear, their old guys are too slow, goaltending has been average, Simmonds their prized signing has been totally invisible as has their prized deadline deal Foligno. Again both teams have looked mediocre this game.

Gotta say, the non call versus the call is pretty bad.

Oh i dont think there will be a lot of apologizing for the Leafs from Toronto media...in fact if this score holds, we may see a tearing down of the leafs like has never been seen before.

Im REALLY hoping to find out and read it though....simple minds and all.

Yup that was egregious.

The call on Armia makes up for it a bit though.

I don't normally watch these intermissions. Is Botterill usually this bad at analysis? Good lord.

Hopefully the Leafs get eliminated and they trade off some assets and somehow it benefits us.

The "Marner for Eichel" rumours will be coming right quick.

I think generally she’s alright. It was a bit stating the obvious, but for a female broadcaster with little experience she’s almost as good as her peers with less experience.

It was written in the sky that the Habs would score on this powerplay. You just knew they would do it.

Third straight multigoal lead for Montreal. Will the Leafs pull another 3rd period come-back and force OT?

What’s clear about the way to build a team moving forward, to me at least, is speed everywhere as a core requirement. If you can cycle the puck with speed like Colorado you’re in a good place. I think Toronto decided to overcompensate for the lack of grind last year and you have too many slower guys on the team now. The Flames too. Too many guys who are slow and can’t cycle. If you’re on the top three lines you gotta fly and pass.

The Leafs know that no lead is safe in the third in a game 7
