Sure. Bu there is more to the game than that.

For a complete game, for a playoff series, I am taking MacKinnon all day. And it isn't even all that close.

Why does that matter? It's a team game.

On top of having MacK, they have Makar.

Like how is this even fair.

Edit: and Rantanen and Landeskog. Like damn.

That is why MacKinnon is a better player. He is a dominant force but he plays with his entire team.

Huh? Of course it's a team game, but when it matters most you want your best scorer out there. And that to me would give the slight edge to McDavid. Team game or not you still want the best player if you have a choice.

Thats not a penalty unless being bigger than the other guy is now a foul.

I don't even know if anyone can make a legitimate claim to this much. McDavid has incredible speed, can make incredible plays at high speed, but if he is not coming off the rush I am not convinced he is a better player at all. McDavid is the best one-on-one, but MacKinnon can play the game any way you want it. He has the high skill, speed and vision, but then he can also make plays under extreme pressure, and through the heaviest of traffic.

Remember how the Flames lost to the Avs, who outskilled and outskated them. And decided the issue was size and not being tough enough.

While the Avs went out and just kept adding more skill and high end talent.

You have to get to games that matter. You have to claw your way to a spot where you can be in a position to ask your best player to go out and score a big goal. I'd have just as much confidence in Mackinnon to do that as McDavid, if not moreso. One has shown an ability to do it when it matters.

I will say, if McDavid ever DOES figure out how to play the rest of the game, he'd be very scary. I also don't think it's his fault he has to play 30 min a game.

But hockey is a team game, it's not figure skating where individually can win you a medal. This is where I see it differently from you, McDavid isn't even 90% of MacKinnn, if he is, his team will still be in the playoff instead of being swept. He is all individual accolades, if he doesn't change that, his team will never win in the playoff.

I don't know if you've said this exact thing before or if I'm having serious deja vu right now...

I guess it's simply all bar talk anyway. I recognize McDavid isn't getting in scrums to get the puck in the corner and stuff, and MacKinnon is better at that, but when you really need that point, I'd take McDavid, end of story. The Oilers suck bad and I think he's done what he needs to do generally. Put MacKinnon on the Oilers and I think they're in the same position. Put McDavid on Colorado and they're just as good.

If MacKinnon is only 90% of McDavid, it's because he doesn't have the 10% of McDavid that sucks.
