I think he has taken great strides since leaving Calgary.
He crushed his team with a very bad choice...twice.

Yes, but that's my point. They go after your stars? You go after theirs. Don't waste time on the idiot 3rd and 4th liners.

Kucherov with 3 points. I couldnt care less for Florida but what an embarrassment and pure cheating by Tampa Bay.

karma doesn't exist. If you want things to even out, you have to make it happen yourself.

Yeah, that's what's being lost in this as well. They basically announced the exact time their superstar would return last summer....playoffs. That is absurd that this was allowed to happen.
It literally allowed them to ice a better, more expensive team than anyone else for the playoffs. NHL is spineless.

That Florida crowd was hot. This is why you don't write off a market that hasn't seen much playoff action

True. Agreed. I truly hope Point or Kucherov are targeted next game. Crank them and hit to hurt.

Yandle is the worst culprit for that, though it was forsling and weegar who got burned on the game winner.
They really need to figure out their PK more than anything. I believe it was 1 for 4 today, not gonna win many games when that's the case.

The fact that the Panthers are making the Lightning work their arses off, without Ekblad, is remarkable.

The Kucherov thing is fishy but Seguin had the same hip surgery a month earlier...and only came back a month ago.
So they probably scheduled the surgery to align nicely with playoffs but he wasn’t just sitting at home healthy.
And hell if you can lose your leading point scorer and a top 10 player in the league for the whole season and still easily make the playoffs then good on you.

Its not as black and white as making the playoffs without your leading point scorer. Thay cap hit was used on other players. Those players weren't as good as Kucherov but they were able to use the cap savings to keep their core together.

*sigh* It's called LTIR. You can go out and get other good players, OR in their case, KEEP the good players you already have and stay cap compliant.
What you cannot do is stack your team for the playoffs because your roster has to be cap compliant all year. That's if you're playing by the rules.

I really believe in the long run it’s more important to stand up and hit back.
It shouldn’t be over either. Someone should fill Coleman’s face with fists at some point. Or Point’s, because if the refs won’t do their job that’s the way it goes.

It's game 1 of a minimum 4 game series, you're going to have plenty of chances to settle any scores, and there are definitely going to be better times to do it than up 1 with less than 10 minutes to go.

In this case shelving Kucherov got them below the salary cap, right? They weren't able to add anyone with his salary.
Look at their situation next year. They're way over the cap again but no convenient way to put 9 million on LTIR. This is their last kick at the can with this group, unless they weasel their way under the cap again.

I know I'm late to the party, but what a game that was. I'm following this one closely. High intensity, bad blood brewing, high scoring. 79 shots, 90 hits? Let's gooooo

That was a really entertaining game (though as a temporary Panthers fan, I sit here quite disappointed in my 1999 Panthers navy blue third Bure jersey).
But they absolutely have to send a message that if that happens again, guys are getting tossed. It's a minor miracle no one was seriously hurt the way guys were running around. Bennett should have got 5 and a game for that hit on Coleman. There were other hits by both teams that probably should have resulted in ejections. You can have good, tough, playoff hockey without that kind of stuff.
