That game was about as exciting as Sarah Nurse's commentary.

It was a weird one. It was somewhere between an exhibition game and an all-star game, not much physical contact and it really looked like every time one team started trying hard, they were able to dominate.

The only thing I really did enjoy was watching Gaudreau-Lindholm-Tkachuk. They're playing at a high, high level right now and for the first time in a while it looks like an actual quality first line.

Things like that little chip pass from Tkachuk to spring Lindholm are exactly what we need from him.

Executing those little high IQ plays in real time to open up space for skilled teammates are what make him a top line talent.

Dude is finally tuned in to the ability that was already there the whole time.

You very well may be right, but Zary (and Pelletier) are about as exciting of prospects as a cake fart. They are like smaller Joe Colbornes

Nate Schmidt must be hating life right now.... Goes from top of the conference Vegas to a very rough season for the canucks. Penthouse to the outhouse....

So not much intensity or physicality and the top line looked great?

Yeah, I bet they did.

They've been good for a while, not just tonight. Or would you disagree? The game was what it was... I'd rather our top players look good than not.

Not really as I don’t want the GM to fooled into keeping two of those players. They cannot get it done when it matters, so no point in paying them a fortune when they will not bring Stanley home.

Default Flames defeat Canucks 4-1

There really was no outcome to this game that would’ve been satisfactory.

They may not. But we do.

I would agree, if they dressed some kids that they want to push for spots in camp next year.

Winning the game with a veteran lineup is the absolute dumbest and undefendable outcome of all all possible outcomes.

Nice. Even Friedman calling last nights lineup decisions "weird".

Flames are such a great organization.

If this team shifts to build mode Sutter needs to head back to the ranch. He is only here to win and do it in the next couple of years. I hope they have some STH zoom calls soon because I have some questions for Treliving.

Top of the list is if he agrees with Sutter that this was only a 4-6th place team in the division.

Bringing in sutter mid year is likely to be a very bad decision for treliving. If it worked, great. But now that it hasn't, and heading into a very difficult offseason where the org needs to make a decision on the team's future path with guy's like Giordano, gaudreau, tkachuk on the last year of their deals, they're stuck.

A win-now coach, with a roster ripe for an inevitable rebuild.

I would have liked to see what an actual nhl calibre coach, heck sutter, could have done in a full season. Coming in, mid year was a tough task.

Enjoy the crap pool you have created for yourself treliving.

Sutter probably cares more about his win % as a coach than draft position

He might not get to enjoy it. I think there is a decent chance a change is made but I also think it will be a Feaster mandate of the new guy coming in to win.

The Sutter move should of happened when Peters resigned. After that it should of happened after the bubble. There was no time to turn it around this year and it feels like the team has been turning it around but obviously too little too late.

It is why I think they will make changes this summer and come back next year and push for a playoff spot. If they stumble huge out of the gate then the tank should be on.
