It’s been what, 7 years and we haven’t accomplished anything other than an unexpected first round playoff win? I’ve been a Tre supporter up until now. He’s gotta go unfortunately. Davidson is available from the Rangers, might be a good PoHO pickup. Could help getting a legit GM as well.

How about Dale Tallon as the new GM? He seems to be a victim of bad timing as his teams get good right after he leaves, he pretty much built the Hawks first Cup team and the current very good Panthers team.

Big John had a place in Invermere - maybe still does.

My prediction was right
But you’d be wanting the prediction thread.

If they don’t, they’ll set themselves for anther 30+ years of disappointment.
Unless you think Calgary can contend next year (they can’t), it will just get worse the next year as players contract end and/or players age.

I’m skeptical that they can contend next year, but I don’t think there is a ‘one glove fits all’ formula for success. Setting themselves up for another 30+ years of disappointment? Your crystal ball must be working pretty good these days

So.... is it safe to say that after 7 years, we can call this current loser product the culmination of his process?
Process in this industry should usually denote an upward or positive direction. This team is going down, down, down.
Will the owners let Brad start a new process to replace the old process? Or do they need to process whether his process is the process that the team needs to proceed to a regular playoff team that can actually win more than 1 game in a series??
I will say - if he is still around in 3 years time, can't wait to see the next loser coach he taps on the shoulder to destroy any good young talent the Flames have acquired in that time.

So, is he gone yet? I have a feeling the Flames are going to continue disappointing me with keeping him around.

I am looking forward to garbage bag day - not to hear the players, I couldn't care less about any of those losers and hope most of them are gone before next season.
I do look forward to hearing Brad's comments about how he will have to process this season, remove emotion, and then continue along his process of building a garbage team, hiring garbage coaches (I don't for one second believe that Sutter was his hire) and trading away talented players that he allowed his AWFUL coaches to destroy for peanuts to watch them light it up as soon as they receive some competent coaching.
F*** Treliving - he seriously hired THREE coaches in a row that would be on par with Greg Gilbert as worst coaches in Flames history.

I know there hasn't been much to talk about lately but I do find it interesting that Treliving has been a ghost this past month or so.

I have been thinking the same thing. Hopefully it's a sign of pending changes.

There was never a "process". He just found that word, thought, hey this is a good catch all for any possible scenario the Flames are in. Losing streak, "process", winning streak, "part of a process", playoff loss, "process". Brad Treliving sure has the gift of spinning a yarn. If he was able to take even an 1/8th of his ability to BS a room of reporters and translate that into being an effective GM he might actually be ok, but his only skills are talking in circles, trading away massive amounts of draft capital, and referencing a "process" that no one can actually explain what the process is.

I don't think I've ever heard Treliving say "the process" in any unusual way. I know he's never said "trust the process".

When the poll started for this thread I voted unsure if he should be he won’t get fired. I am still a little unsure if he should (easier to justify moving on than retaining him) but I am starting to think he will get canned.
The 2015 run was nice for the history books (actually winning a playoff round last decade) but it definitely sped up the rebuild and while it looked to be on the right track 2 years ago it has been a steady decline since.
I think there is a shortlist of candidates that will be interested in working with Darryl and will take the job knowing they want to win sooner than later.
For me it is JD and Lombardi as the tandem we need. Lombardi has a great winning relationship with Darryl and JD is in place to hire the successor that will rebuild the team after Dean/Darryl take a couple runs at putting a contender on the ice.

If the team was serious about showing fans they want to right this ship they would have fired Treliving this morning. Every day he still has a job reduces my hope for anything positive happening this summer.

I would imagine....
They're just going to coast on the wave until the official end of the season. No sense in canning him now.
Maybe after the season? I'm still not certain they'll fire him at all actually.
Its basically too late now. It should have happened a while ago, theres not much point in firing him now since they wont replace him with anyone who knows what they're doing.
I'm guessing someone either had to twist his arm to hire Sutter if not just go around him entirely.
Treliving just strikes me as someone who is too set in his ways.
"The Process is a Process."
Analysis Paralysis.

Has anyone outside of us fans mentioned anything about Treliving's future?
