Based on just this information, Bingo's first response was that player is screaming "me me me" too much. The player was only talking about their long term health concerns from a work place injury and being forced to work through it, and Bingo labels them as a "me me me" player?
Any other industry, that instant attack on a presumed victims character to defend the corporation, with zero evidence (unless of course there are other qutoes not included in OP, in which case, sure) would be a sickening position for all to see, and all should see it in hockey to.
Is there more to the story and there is a chance the player is embellishing? Perhaps, and the Sabers can certainty decide to go public or not. We may never hear the full story, if there is more from it, but currently this player is a victim and should be treated as such.
You don't provide a victim a blanket of trust with no questions, but you also don't immediately attack their character based on nothing but their concerns about the impact of their long term health. Like really? This was the first reaction?
This "cult of hockey" driving this mentality that team success (and therefore team profit margins) is more important than the long term health of these players needs to die a quick death.
Its gross

He did?
I havent seen a single thing where it is alleged that they were "forcing him to play" at any point nor through any injury.
Do they agree on the course to take treatment wise? No.
But that is miles apart from what you are insinuating.
This is what happens with guaranteed contracts...those that are responsible to pay them get say on every aspect of that players health, treatment, and rehab if necessary.

I’m all in on Eichel.
He’s 24, same age as McDavid and Marner. A year older than Matthews.
Bona fide star centre. They don’t come around often.
Eichel and Johnny would be amazing.
This would be a franchise changer.

I do see us as potential front runners if teams with heavy young assets aren’t ready to make that leap (LA, Rangers)
I see it around Tkachuk and a few more assets, it just seems to make sense. Let’s for a second make it hurt on our side so it’s fair.
Tkachuk
Mangiapane
This years First
And probably a little more

Those two together, regardless of who is riding shotgun, would be a line to be reckoned with.
Would rejuvinate Johnny and the Flames as a whole
Johnny was always meant to be the shifty playmaker to a guy like Eichel. He was just never meant to be the Eichel.

Oh me too.
Andersson is our future for RHed dmen so he should be retained.
The good news is Buffalo has a plethora of RHed dmen in Ristolainen, Miller, Jokiharju and Borgen who are all under team control next season.
Only LHed guys they have under contract are Dahlin and rookie Bryson.
I think they would prefer a LHed dman to play in the top 4 as the other top 4 LD would be Dahlin.

If he's actually going to miss a big chunk of the year then that could work great for the Flames.
Lowers the cost of acquisition, most teams will want someone to play right away.
Allows the team to either move on or extend guys with only a year or two left without pressure of trying to make the playoffs.
Allows the Flames to do a mini rebuild over 2 drafts and hopefully come out of it in a better situation.
2022-23 a bunch more cap clears up and there is only 1 year left on Lucic.

Yeah screw it - ditch Eichel, ditch Sam, ditch Risto, go with the kids. If they're good, great! If they suck, well, I've heard the next two drafts have superstars at the top. Burn it down.

It already happened when Button traded for Chris Drury. Button was comically stupid though so...

Coming to Calgary is not really a change of scenery for Jack IMO.

That is a bit different IMO.
Drury went from a cup winning and perennial cup contender, to Calgary who hadn't made the playoffs in 7 years, and looked to be nowhere near a contending or cap spending team at that time.
Plus IIRC correctly Drury was an RFA at the time, and the concern was he would hold out.
If Drury knows that the Flames would be in the cup finals 12 months later, and that the team would be a cap team post lockout then maybe he doesn't ask to be traded.

I disagree, the scenery in Calgary is beautiful. Most places don’t have anything approaching our sunsets.
Buffalo is an ugly hole located in a place colloquially referred to as the Rust Belt.

One of my concerns, besides the injury and acquisition cost, is that to be a contender, you need some key players playing above their contracts. We would get no benefit from that and would instead be jumping right into his prime earning years. It wouldn’t be an issue if we had the blue chip prospects coming in that could fill the role, but we really don’t.
At best, Eichel performs up to his contract and we sneak into the playoffs despite the holes in defense and on the right side.

Also some anonymous GM quotes from the below article.

So the general structure of a Buffalo-Calgary trade if we go from the above assessments, appears to be:
A 1st round pick (check, plus it has the potential to be top 10)
A mid-round pick (check, we have our 2nd and two 3rds)
Talented young roster player (check, we can give them Tkachuk or Monahan)

I can’t believe people are still putting Tkachuk and Monny in the same category of value.

Yeah, I don’t think the rest of the league is as down on Tkachuk as the fan base is.
Monahan is much less enticing. Big time reclamation project. I really think this player needs to be rebuilt from the ground up.

I have no reason to actually think this will happen, but I can see Eichel going to the Flyers. It just seems like the kind of move they would make and they have a lot of interesting assets that Buffalo would be interested in.

Eichel for Tkachuk, Valimaki, Pelletier
Monahan for Arviddson
Gaudreau-Eichel-Arviddson
Phillips-Lindholm-Mangiapane
Lucic-Backlund-Dube
Zary-Ruzicka-Gawdin
X (I dunno - Nordstrom or Ritchie or someone)
Gio-Tanev
Hanifin-Andersson
Kylington-Stone
Mackey
Markstrom
Zags or some other $1M goalie
You are about a $77M cap hit

That's a horrible line up. Small team that would get crushed trying to play Sutter hockey. This team isn't going to get smaller. Count on that. As long as Gaudreau is on the roster, Matthew Phillips doesn't get a sniff.

Yeah, 6 rookies and a couple sophomore players. That team is 25% AHL players and would get absolutely killed.
I say let’s do it. Need to rebuild through the draft anyway.

I am planning on a lottery pick in year two. That solidifies things.
