Also, my shoulder is killing me from trying to hit homers in Wii Sports Baseball.
Also is there a way to play music on a SD card? and what video format is compatible?
|
You can drag mp3s onto your SD card and play it in some channels (i.e. photo channel) and in some games - Excite Truck is the only one I know of that supports this for now.
http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/sys...jsp#file_types Only .mov video formats are supported in the photo channel for now.
http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/sys...t.jsp#faqVideo The internet channel only supports Flash movies from version 7 or earlier for now.
Finner, I have Wii Sports, Zelda, Excite Truck and Elebits. This should keep me busy the rest of the year.

Currently i have:
Madden NFL 2007
Elebits
Warioware
Wii Sports (Like everyone)
Zelda
Monkey Ball
Raymonds Raving Rabbids
I've finished Monkey Ball, and Raymonds. I'm fairly good at Madden, and Elebits i've finished 19 of the levels. I think there is around 30.
I just bought Wario and Zelda today so as of yet I've only played a couple hours of Zelda and none of Wario.
As far as the games go:
Monkey Ball- Great multiplayer game, the single player gets DAMN difficult
Raymonds Rabbids- Single Player is pretty easy but fun, MultiPlayer leaves much to be desired. I mean most the games take place turn by turn instead of all players together, not to mention they are hard to pick out what game is which with the names they are given and no screenshots.
Madden- Tons of fun. Multiplayer mini games are great, especially if you know someone who is fairly proficent at a different version of madden so they know "timing" even if it is a different control. Only gripe is the poor graphics.
Elebits- My gf loves this game. I have a lot of fun with it too. Throw crap around with your "gravity gun." The car levels are the best, as throwing around chairs, vases and remote control cars can get old. Pretty diffucult already at level 19 and heard it can get wicked hard. Multiplayer is pretty good, but won't last long, as the game doesn't change only the level does.
Zelda- Seems good so far. I've never played a zelda game before but i'm having a blast. Maybe i'm just not ut out for RPG's as I'm already stuck. Here's to the walkthrough.
Wario- Will update once i make some progress.
I probably have the 6 most popular games on here so if you have any questions just ask. They are some of the highest rated too, according to www.ign.com.
Gotta love the wii.....
|
I've got Zelda, Monkey Ball, Call of Duty 3, Trauma Center: Second Opinion, and 16 VC games.
Call of Duty 3 is probably the best FPS on the Wii right now, its just too bad it does not have multiplayer.
Trauma Center is a very fun, yet sometimes very difficult surgery game.
Zelda and Monkey Ball are covered well by the above quote.

Games I own:
Wii Sports - This game is great due to how universally popular it is. I've seen it played by kids as young as 4 years old and as old as my dad, who is in his late 60s. And you know Nintendo's got it right when you've seen a group of young tween girls fighting to play tennis on a video game console.
Call of Duty 3 - It's a decent FPS. Controls are pretty unique. Graphics are not its strong point though.
Zelda - What can I say? Brilliant. Great puzzles. Excellent story. Could use some voice acting (except for Link. He should ever be the silent hero).
Excite Truck - Meh. It's fun at first, but it loses its lustre quickly.
Trauma Center - It's the same story as the DS version, but the controls and graphics are sleeker. Very fun in any case.
Elebits - Very creative. The style reminds me a bit of Katamari for PS2.
Wario Ware - Soooo much fun. The game is made up of hundreds of "micro-games", which are mini-games that last anywhere from 5 seconds to 30 seconds. Each micro-game is performed using one of about 12 "forms" ranging from straight pointing with the wiimote to more zany forms like the "mohawk" where you place it on your head, the "elephant" where you place it in front of your nose, or the "big cheese" where you place it by your hip. It's zany fun, and hilariously chaotic in multiplayer mode.
Wii Play - A package of 9 mini-games and a wii-mote. It's good 2-player fun. My favourites are the suped-up Duck Hunt and the tank game. The tank game is WAY too addictive.
Games I've played:
Red Steel - Pure and utter useless crap. Seemed like a decent concept, but long drawn out cut scenes, crappy graphics and awkward controls make the game the crap of the crop.
Rayman's Raving Rabbits - Is it so wrong that I take extreme pleasure in beating the crap out of bunnies with a hammer?
Looking forward to:
Mario Party - coming out next month. Talk about a game that fits the system perfectly
Dance Dance Revolution - Will be played with both a DDR pad AND a wii-mote/nunchuk. Sounds like a blast!
Smash Brothers - Solid Snake and Zero Suit Samus?? Sick!
Tiger Woods '07 - I'm buying this for my dad for Father's Day. Sounds like a good-un!
Wii Music - I've been looking forward to this game since the announcement of the Wii. The drum demo and orchestra demo look awesome.
Wii Health - This game has been rumoured to be in development. If so, looks like another potential cross-generational classic.
Wow that was a long write-up. Good thing it's Friday heh.

I bought Dragon Ball Z: Budokai for my bro and it is pretty fun. Great for fans of the series and not a bad fighter for those who know nothing about it.

Be careful with baseball in Wii sports. I am pretty sure I pulled a back muscle doing that. I went from a health age of 28 to 59 over night, haha..
This device is amazing.

Just a note to Wii owners:
Future Shop on MacLeod Tr has got in the Wiimote charging stations - $30 for a station that holds 2 remotes, and comes with 1 rechargable battery pack.

Thanks for that. Hopefully the Northland FS has the same station.

so I just bought my Wii last week, and I am looking to buy a new game this weekend....I have Zelda already, and LOVE it.
What should be the next game to be added to my collection? I am thinking either Wario Ware, or Maddens '07.
What else should I be considering?

I just got Madden and it's a blast. I think it's the only game ever where I practiced for over half an hour before getting into an actual game.

My wife and I picked up Warioware on the weekend when we were in Calgary, and we started playing it last night and were having a blast.

Are there any good sports games out yet? Coming soon?
I know Madden exists, but since it is a first generation on the Wii I have been avoiding it. Is it any good?

I've heard that Madden is excellent.
SSX Blur just came out (if your into snowboarding), and its being well received by critics.
TIger Woods PGA Tour looks fantastic; I'm looking very forward to it..

Just wanted to let you Wii types know that I stumbled on a new free channel. It's under Wii Ware (where you got the internet browser) and it looks like some kind of a poll game, where you try and guess how most of the population (in the area you're from) will respond to the poll.
Seems like a neat idea.
Edit: It's called Everybody Votes Channel
