Given how they performed last year against the 12th-place Blackhawks, I wouldn't be a bit surprised.

Mu guess, them stinking Oilers go on a conference run. The sweet taste of them getting bounced late will be delicious.

Kind of like Vancouvers run in 2011. It'll suck for a while but that loss that ends them is going to be amazing. Gotta dig deep for the potent salty tears. Real deep. Like conference or cup finals deep.

The Jets stinking now is also not necessarily great for the Oilers. We're a ways out from playoffs still. I wouldn't be comfortable with the amount of time the Jets but specifically Hellebyuck have still to turn it around. Unlikely they continue to just play at this level for 4+ weeks and make no adjustments.

There are few things more delicious than how arrogant that team gets before they've even played a meaningful game. Remember how high they were after the Flames exhibition before play-ins? Then a rebuilding team waltzed in and ran their show. Felt like Chelsea Dagger was playing on repeat, and it was glorious.

Oil going out quick would be great to bruise their egos. On the other hand getting to the conf finals from a weak weak division would convince them they’re very close to contending so would blow the bank of their future, only to slide off the cliff more and more each following year up to the great McDavid trade of 2024.

Lol I wonder if they're going to put commemorative plaques around town describing the eventual Great McDavid trade like Wayne's?

Sounds like a rhetorical question.

Habs win, so this game is pretty much meaningless now. But please Flames, just beat these clowns anyway.

So if Mtl goes 3-3, Flames have to run the table?

Unbelievable Jets and Sens had two goal leads on MTL. Habs lose those two games and things look much different.

So basically, the North division is truly awful.

I can't believe we just completely glazed over the fact that was Cole Caufields 1st ever goal and it was an OT winner.
